Academy Update: U-18s yet to lose

FRISCO, Texas – The FC Dallas Academy and Pre Academy teams went undefeated in the final weekend of October, coming away from their matches against Andromeda FC with a draw and four wins. It was the first undefeated weekend for FCD since week two.

The U-18 Academy team allowed their first goal against in their past five games and took their first tie of the season, while the U-16s unloaded an offensive barrage on Andromeda to get back into the win column. The Pre Academy teams were perfect on the weekend, allowing only three goals between the three squads. The U-15s followed last weekend’s loss by posting a shutout, the U-14s maintained their perfect season, and the U-13s won for the second straight week.

FC Dallas U-18s: 1
Andromeda FC: 1

After 383 minutes of shutout soccer, the FC Dallas U-18s finally conceded a goal in the 24th minute of their match against Andromeda on Saturday when Joel Ramirez struck for the visiting team. The squad played from behind for only three minutes however, as defender Mark Ashby scored his second goal of the season in the 27th minute. The game remained tied 1-1 and FCD took their first tie this season.

The U-18s remain in first place in the Texas Division and average just under three points per game. Mark Ashby scored both of his goals against Andromeda this season, with his first coming in the match at Andromeda on September 24. The U-18s are four points ahead of Texans SC Houston, who lost to FCD 2-0 the previous weekend.

FC Dallas U-16s: 7
Andromeda FC: 0

The U-16s came out firing last weekend to win their third game of the year. Six different players scored and Abdulraham Yassine got things started with his second goal of the year in the 13th minute. Yassine’s opener was followed by tallies by Erick Chapa, Zach Dunbar, Evan Wyatt, a second by Chapa, Aaron Meyer, and Alberto Galvan to round out the 7-0 rout.

The brace marked Chapa’s first two goals of the season and Dunbar’s tally brought his team-leading goal count to six. The win brought FCD back out of fifth place and has them again tied for third with 10 points in the Texas Division.

FC Dallas U-15s: 6
Andromeda FC: 0

After being shut out two weeks in a row, the FC Dallas U-15 Pre Academy team posted a 6-0 shutout of their own against Andromeda FC. Sergio Lara scored a brace in the match, and FCD also got goals from Jaime Rodriguez, James Olmos, Brent Mandelkorn and Christian Ramirez, who played up with the U-15s from the U-14 Pre Academy team.

FC Dallas U-14s: 4
Andromeda FC: 1

Despite giving up their first – and only – goal of the season to Andromeda FC last weekend, the U-14s still managed to maintain their perfect record with a 4-1 victory. Goals from Alejandro Martinez, Richard Tapia, Bernie ZuaZua and Weston McKennie assured FCD of their sixth straight win. McKennie pulled double duty for FC Dallas this weekend, as his goal for the U-14s came the day after he made an appearance as a second half substitute in the U-16s 7-0 rout of Andromeda.

FC Dallas U-13s: 5
Andromeda FC: 2

The U-13 Pre Academy team won their second straight match when they beat Andromeda 5-2. FCD got goals from Brandon Pike, Eddie Munjoma, Evander Ramirez and a pair of goals from Alex Gerondale to round out the victory. The win improved the U-13s record to 4-2 on the season.

Up Next: vs. Houston Dynamo
The FC Dallas Academy and Pre Academy teams will travel south this weekend to take on fellow MLS side the Houston Dynamo in youth versions of the Texas Derby Rivalry. It will mark the first of three meetings between the clubs this season.
