FC Dallas signed midfielder Nicky Hernandez to a two-year contract with club options for the 2023, 2024 and 2025 season.

Hernandez signed with FC Dallas’ USL League One side North Texas Soccer Club in 2020, where he scored three goals and recorded one assist in nine appearances. The Duncanville, Texas native graduated from Dallas’ Townview Magnet Center in Oak Cliff.
Made his professional debut for North Texas SC and recorded his first assist on Sept. 13 in 2-0 win over FC Tucson. Scored first professional goal one week later in 1-1 home draw with FC Tucson and scored the game-tying goal in 1-1 draw with NE Revolution II on Oct. 17. He scored his third and final goal of 2020 on the final day of the season in 2-1 win over Tormenta FC. Totaled 810 USL League One minutes in his first season.
Hernandez, 22, played three seasons at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He recorded eight goals and nine assists in 52 overall appearances for the Mustangs. Hernandez was named to the All-SMU Tournament Team in 2018 and AAC All-Tournament Team in 2019. Prior to his collegiate career, Hernandez captained the Dallas Texans SC U-18 team which reached the quarterfinals of the Dallas Cup in 2017.
