2015: Made his USMNT debut on February 8 on a friendly versus Panama when subbed in on the 72nd minute…The US went to win the match 2-0.

College

Hedges started 85 matches during his college career. He began his college soccer experience at Butler University, where he played three seasons, scoring 12 goals and compiling 72 shots as a defender. Hedges played his senior season at the University of North Carolina. He scored six goals and had one assist, while starting all 20 games as a member of a stout Tarheel defense, which won the 2011 NCAA Championship.

Matthew James Hedges is the son of Jim and Donna Hedges Born April 1, 1990 in Rochester, N.Y. His sister played soccer at Wisconsin… His mother played basketball at Morehead State and his father played golf at Morehead State Hedges majored in economics at Carolina… Hobbies include playing FIFA on PlayStation 3 and watching soccer… Favorite soccer memory was when he was selected by FCD in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft.
