FRISCO, Texas – With the signing of Franco Jara from Pachuca, FC Dallas completed one of the more high-profile signings in the club’s recent history. Although Jara will not arrive in Texas until the summer, we can still keep tabs him and get a better picture of what is to be expected once the forward officially joins his new club.
Pachuca’s struggles in Liga MX continued on Saturday, as the team fell 3-1 to Cruz Azul in Mexico City. Jara did not start the match but came on as a substitute in the 66th minute, replacing Colin Kazim-Richards. The forward’s creativity nearly resulted in his side taking a 2-1 lead in the 78th minute, when he set up a teammate at the edge of the six, only for the goalkeeper to smother the chance. With the loss, Pachuca sits in 17th position with just four points.
Pachuca will now enjoy a pair of home fixtures this week. Tonight, the club takes on Toluca in the first leg of the Copa MX Quarterfinals. The match kicks off at 7 PM and can be seen on TUDN USA and ESPN Deportes. On Saturday, the team will look to turn around its Liga MX fortunes with a matchup against another struggling side in Puebla. The match kicks off at 5 PM and can also be seen on ESPN Deportes.
