FRISCO - December 6, 2019 marks the one-year anniversary of the unveiling of North Texas Soccer Club. It was an incredible inaugural season for the team who ended the year as the first-ever USL League One Regular Season Champions, also capturing the playoff title. #4 - Ricardo Pepi Signs Homegrown Contract
Ricardo Pepi started the season in stunning form. After an amazing professional debut where he scored a hattrick, Pepi went on to score another seven goals before the end of June. His brilliant start put him on the radar of the senior team, and after a short-term loan to FC Dallas, Pepi signed a professional contract with FC Dallas. His signing was consistent with the rich history of FC Dallas Homegrown players, with Pepi being the 26th homegrown player to sign for FC Dallas and the first to sign directly from North Texas SC.
#3 - North Texas Captures the Regular Season Title
North Texas SC was the dominant force in USL League One for most of the season. However, after a run of six games with only one win culminating in a loss to Lansing Ignite in Michigan, North Texas slipped out of first place for the first time in the season. The team dug deep and went on a run reminiscent of their early form as they won their next five games, clinching the regular season title with a win on September 14th with a 2-1 victory over South Georgia Tormenta FC.
