ACADEMY: U-15s Win First Two Matches of Playoffs

FRISCO, Texas- The U-15s Academy have seen success in the beginning of their playoff run. Heading in to a match at 11:00AM on Sunday they have yet to lose. They won their match of Thursday 3-1 over the Atlanta United FC as well as beating Crew SC Academy 4-2 on Friday.

On Thursday Carlos Sanchez found the goal twice in the first half putting FC Dallas in a healthy lead heading in to half time. To put the gap further from reach, Diego Gamez was able to capitalize on an opening in the 79th minute that caused Atlanta United to press for the final 11 minutes of the match without success.

On Friday both Ty Reynolds and Cristian Gallo made the most of their opportunities in the first half allowing the U-15s to head in to the half with a one goal lead. In the second half Crew SC U-15s to respond to give them a tie and win within reach during the second half. The U-15s quickly responded to retake the lead in the 71st minute with Santiago Ferreira finding a goal. In the 80th minute FC Dallas put the game out of reach after Diego Hernandez scored in a penalty kick.

The U-15s finish the first round of playoffs against Strikers FC with a possibility of following the U-19s lead of heading in to the knockout round undefeated.
