FRISCO - FC Dallas heads on the road this week looking to switch their momentum and get back in the win column against Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

  • FCD record: 5-5-3 (18 pts., 6th in West)
  • VAN record: 3-6-4 (13 pts., 9th in West)
  • FCD vs. VAN all-time: 10-5-5 (27 GF, 22 GA)
  • FCD vs. VAN Away: 3-5-4 (11 GF, 14 GA)

  • FC Dallas heads back on the road after a double-match week against LAFC with a loss and a draw. They are looking to continue the momentum with a winless streak over the past 5 games, but three straight losses in the middle of two draws. Vancouver is coming off a draw against Kansas City with a equalizer in the end of stoppage time. Vancouver has been struggling to find momentum consistent enough to get a streak of any sort going in 2019.

  • Luchi Gonzalez will face another first-year coach in Vancouver's Marc Dos Santos. Dos Santos has coached in multiple countries before switching to the MLS in the winter of 2018, where he was an assistant on Bob Bradley's staff at LAFC. The Whitecaps have been adjusting to Dos Santos quick on the fly style, along with the aggressive technique he’s been focusing on. This will be yet another test of two first year head coaches and two different team style’s and dynamics.

  • Although very different opponents, Vancouver faced a similar game against Kansas City last week. Both games resulted in late equalizers, with one team playing a man down for the majority of the second half. In Vancouver’s situation they had the man advantage and fought back for the draw, whereas FC Dallas had the disadvantage of playing a man down and allowing an equalizer to LAFC from the PK spot.

  • Both FC Dallas and Vancouver have seen a lot of roster changes due to injuries and call-ups on in recent weeks. Vancouver has had a busy schedule the past two weeks and a few consistent starters injured. They have been missing Lass Bangoura, Yordy Reyna, and had Jassar Khmiri, Doneil Henry take hits in the game against Sporting Kansas City on Saturday just to name a few hits to their roster. FC Dallas has its own thinned roster due to starters missing for international duty and injuries sustained over the past couple games. FC Dallas will continue to miss Edwin Cerrillo, Paxton Pomykal, Santiago Mosquera. Carlos Gruezo, Dominique Badji have been playing on a game-by-game basis as well.

  • FC Dallas has been posed with a multitude of positional hits, and roles needing filling over the past few games. This week they will playing without defender Matt Hedges who received a red card in the beginning of the second half against LAFC. Hedges is a co-captain and leader throughout the FC Dallas locker room and on the field. On the other hand they have the potential to have Michael Barrios return to play this week, putting an offensive leader back on the field after picking up an injury in the first match against LAFC. Dallas is no stranger to having guys step up and be flexible in their roles and this week will show that again.

  • FC Dallas continues to improve their roster after dealing with a few weeks of missing players. Although they will still be missing players due to international call-ups. Most of the roster has returned to the healthy column and won't be hurting from injuries. Seattle on the other hand has seen an increasing number of players leave due to injury and a injury report that continues to grow in length.
