FRISCO - North Texas Soccer Club forward Ricardo Pepi has been called up to the U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team by head coach Raphael Wicky for the Concacaf U-17 Championship.
The Concacaf U-17 Championship takes place in Bradenton, Fla. From May 1 to May 16. The U.S. is in Group F and will kick off its tournament on May 2 against Canada. Its second game is against Barbados on May 4 and will finish the group stage on May 6 against Guatemala. The top four finishing teams will qualify for the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil this Fall.
Ricardo Pepi is currently USL League One’s leading goal scorer with four goals from North Texas Soccer Club’s initial two games. He scored the game-winning penalty in the 95th minute of the club’s most recent game against Forward Madison on May 13 and was included in the Team of the Week for Week 3. In his professional debut, the 16-year-old El Paso native scored three goals against the Chattanooga Red Wolves SC and was named USL League One’s Player of the Week for Week 1.
