FRISCO - FC Dallas is back at home and looking to get back into the win column as it hosts the Colorado Rapids. Let's dive into Luchi Gonzalez's lineup this evening.
For the fourth time in club history, FC Dallas will start five Homegrowns in a match, with Jesus Ferreira and Edwin Cerrillo making their first MLS starts alongside Reggie Cannon, Jesse Gonzalez and Paxton Pomykal. It marks the first time such a feat is being done at home, with three previous occurrences taking place away from Toyota Stadium: Sept. 7, 2015 (3-0 W at Columbus), June 29, 2018 (1-0 W at Minnesota) and July 7, 2018 (2-0 L at Real Salt Lake).
With Thomas Roberts and Brandon Servania on the bench and looking to make their MLS debuts, Dallas could be in position to break the MLS mark for Homegrowns in a match for a single team, currently held by RSL at six.
A pair of 18 year olds will make their first MLS starts for FCD today, Ferreira makes his starting debut in his fifth career match, playing once each in the 2017 and 2018 seasons and coming on as a substitute twice already in 2019. All told, the forward has 51 MLS minutes to his name, a mark he should shatter today. Cerrillo's first start comes a little more than six weeks after he signed as the club's 24th Homegrown player on Feb. 14. The midfielder made his MLS debut for 11 minutes of action at the end of a 2-0 win over the LA Galaxy on March 9.
Offseason addition Zdenek Ondrasek will make his first appearance in an 18-man roster for FCD, missing the first three rosters of the season. The Czech Republic-native most recently played for Wisla Krakow in Poland, scoring 20 goals and nine assists in 66 appearances since 2016. The 30-year-old led Krakow in scoring last season with 11 goals in 19 games before joining Dallas on a free transfer.
