STANDINGS: FC Dallas Falls to Fourth After First Loss in 2018

FRISCO - We've hit Week 10 of the MLS season and despite a tough loss on Sunday to New York FC, FC Dallas remains in the top third of the Western Conference standings with games in-hand over several of their foes.

Sporting Kansas City remains atop the West after their first defeat since Week 1, losing to New England 1-0.

Los Angeles Football Cub continued what most of the MLS has been doing all season in beating the Seattle Sounders, 1-0, to open up Banc of California Stadium. The win sees them hold onto second place and sets up a No. 2 vs. No. 4 matchup this weekend as FCD faces the expansion side for the very first time on Saturday.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC was able to leap frog Dallas for the No. 3 spot, snapping a three-game losing streak with a 2-0 win over Real Salt Lake, who remain in sixth. The other LA team dropped to the No. 5 spot this week, losing their third straight home match in a 3-2 defeat to the New York Red Bulls.

Minnesota, the only team below the playoff line to gain three points this week, defeated the Houston Dynamo, 2-1. The Colorado Rapids fell to Orlando City SC, 2-1, and the San Jose Earthquakes dropped a meeting with Columbus, also 2-1, to keep both near the bottom of the table. The Portland Timbers had a bye week and remain in the No. 10 spot.
