ACADEMY: FC Dallas U-17 Forward Dante Sealy Sees time with US U-17 National Team at Nike Friendlies

FRISCO - U.S. Soccer is already looking to build off from this year’s U-17 World Cup success, where the U-17s reached the Quarterfinal, losing to eventual champion, England 4-1. This past week, FC Dallas’ own Dante Sealy made his U-17 debut at the annual Nike Friendlies at Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch, Fla, as the country’s youth program begins to prepare for the next cycle.

Sealy was the only player born on 2003 included in the squad and would be the youngest player to feature for the U.S. in the tournament, making two appearances in matches over the weekend.

The tournament opened up with the U.S. facing England, where Sealy entered the game at the 51-minute mark of a 0-0 game. While the U.S. created several scoring opportunities, it was England who broke the dead lock with ten minutes remaining, beating the Americans, 1-0.

The Brooklyn-native, was awarded with a starting role in his team's second match of the tournament against the Netherlands. The U.S. would lose 5-1.

The U-17s played their final match against Brazil, equalizing in the 53rd minute to earn a 1-1 draw, with Brazil clinching the round robin tournament title.
