FC Dallas adds striker Cristian Colmán as Young Designated Player

22-year-old forward joins defending Supporters’ Shield Champions

FRISCO, Texas – FC Dallas has signed forward Cristian Colmán from Paraguayan first-division side, Nacional Asunción, as a Young Designated Player, pending receipt of his P-1 Visa and ITC.

“Cristian Colmán is a guy who will come here and score goals,” FC Dallas Technical Director Fernando Clavijo said. “Hopefully, he can help us to win an MLS Cup and a CONCACAF championship. We’re really excited”

Colmán began his professional career in 2014 with Club Atlético 3 de Febrero. In nearly 3,000 minutes, the six-foot-tall forward found the back of the net 13 times.

Following the 2014 season, Colmán transferred to Asunción, where he scored 18 goals in 65 appearances.   

Colmán made three appearances for Paraguay’s Under-23 National Team at the 2015 Pan American Games.
