FC Dallas to Face an OKC Side in 2016 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup

The scoreboard will read FCD and OKC when FC Dallas enters the Fourth Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup next month - but which OKC side is still to be decided.

In the Fourth Round Draw held on Thursday morning, FCD learned their first match in the annual tournament will be against the the winner of the third-round OKC Energy FC (USL) at Rayo OKC (NASL) matchup. The two Oklahoma clubs will meet at Miller Stadium on Wednesday, June 1st at 8 p.m.

If Dallas' USL affiliate, Energy FC, wins the two sides would meet in LHUSOC play in the Dallas metroplex for the second-straight season. If Rayo OKC wins, FCD would travel to Yukon, Oklahoma to face the first-year NASL team. More details including date and time for Dallas' Fourth Round match will be released after the OKC-OKC meeting.

Dallas won the tournament, named after club patriarch Lamar Hunt, in 1997 and reached the Semifinal Round as recently as 2014, losing a 1-1 draw on PKs to the Philadelphia Union.
