It's getting down to the business end of the season for the FC Dallas Academy and they'll host arch rivals Houston Dynamo on Saturday at the Toyota Soccer Center with plenty on the line.
The U-18s are currently 12-3-3 on the season and host Houston on Saturday at 1:00PM on Field 4 with lots on the line. Sitting four points behind Houston in the standings with seven games left to play including a match at the Dynamo on the last day of the season, FCD can move within a point of the Dynamo should they find a victory on Saturday as they battle for the Frontier Division title.
There is also major seeding implications on the line as currently FCD holds the #7 seed nationally while Houston holds the #2 seed. The significance of this is the top eight seeds nationally will be seeded at the top of their groups for USSDA playoffs coming to Frisco in late June. How close is the seeding? Texas Rush, just one point behind FCD, is currently the #17 seed nationally.
The U-16s are in a much more comfortable position with a 14-point lead on second place Real Colorado in the U-16 Frontier Division standings while the Dynamo currently sit in seventh. As previously mentioned, however, every game is crucial as you don't want to drop points and slip in the national seeding for playoffs. Currently, FCD U-16s are the #1 national seed with a 16-2-0 record. Their match follows the U-18 match at 3:30PM on Field 4.
The U-14s will also host the Dynamo, though standings are not kept in that division and they'll play also at 1:00PM on field 6. The U-14s are 16-0-1 in USSDA play with 64 goals scored and 11 goals allowed.
