The FC Dallas U-15s have been enjoying an unforgettable time in Mexico City as one of two MLS representatives in the LIGA BBVA Bancomer U-15 International Tournament.
Through four games the team is 1-2-1 playing against the best Mexico and Germany have to offer. Here's a recap of all the action so far:
FC Dallas 0 Borussia Moenchengladbach 0
The U-15s began the tournament last Thursday with a goalless draw against the German powerhouse. According to coach Jesse Suarez, FCD held the majority of possession in the match but just couldn't find the breakthrough goal in a back and forth affair.
FC Dallas 0 Club America 1
On Friday, in a match televised both in Mexico and the United States on Univision Deportes, the U-15s went toe-to-toe with the Liga MX giants falling to a goal scored just after halftime. FCD hit the post late in the match and saw numerous efforts turned away leading to a tough defeat.
FC Dallas 1 Atlas 4
Saturday's match against Atlas was a tough one for the U-15s who fell to three goals allowed in quick succession late in the first half.
FC Dallas 6 Chicago Fire 0
After Sunday's rest day in which the team visited the pyramids of Teotihuican, the U-15s came out flying on Monday morning defeating fellow MLS side Chicago Fire 6-0 behind a hat trick of goals from Jesus Ferreira. Marcos Puga, Adrian Morales and Kevin Kim also scored in the first victory for FCD of the week.
Three matches remain for FC Dallas against Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday, Chivas Guadalajara on Wednesday & Pachuca on Friday. FC Dallas is currently second in their group two points behind Eintracht Frankfurt. The winner of their group will play in the championship match at Estadio Azteca on Saturday.
