Craig Schroeder has been coaching Special Olympics soccer for three years, first in St. Louis, Missouri and now in Coppell alongside his mom, Cindy, and older brother, Kyle. While soccer season is Craig’s favorite part of the year, he now volunteers year-round with Special Olympics, helping athletes excel in swimming, bowling, and basketball.
Soccer has been an integral part of Craig’s life ever since he donned shin guards to watch his older brother’s first games. Craig played locally at Coppell High School before becoming a student-athlete at Washington University in St. Louis. Further, Craig has coached in various roles, from working summer soccer camps to assisting with America SCORES.
As an inaugural season ticket holder (along with his brother Kyle), Craig has been an FC Dallas fan since the team’s inception, and he now attends almost every home game. He is thrilled to help Special Olympics, FC Dallas, and Major League Soccer promote inclusion and respect for people with intellectual disabilities.
