There was little significance tied to FC Dallas’ 5-1 exhibition win over the University of Tulsa on Saturday.

But for many of the club’s trialists and fringe roster players, Saturday represented a golden opportunity to make an impression on the club’s coaching staff.

Though training camp has been in motion for nearly five weeks, less than a week remains for many of the roster hopefuls to make their case. Roster decisions are expected in advance of the team’s trip to the Disney Pro Soccer Classic on Friday.

Major League Soccer has announced the schedule for the 2012 MLS Reserve League season. Each of the 19 MLS clubs will participate in 10 matches for a total of 95 Reserve League games. 

The league will again be divided into Eastern, Central, and Western conferences with each team playing all games within their conference. 

Teams in the six-team Central and Western conferences, which includes FC Dallas, will face each conference opponent twice, once home and once away.

FRISCO, Texas – FC Dallas defeated the University of Tulsa men’s soccer team 5-1 today on the adidas Field at FC Dallas Stadium. Dallas got two goals out of forwards Blas Perez and Scott Sealy in the victory.

FC Dallas spent the majority of 2011 searching for a lone striker to be productive up top.  This offseason, they may have just come up with another solution to their offensive woes – use two forwards.

In an exhibition against Southern Methodist University on Wednesday night, the team featured a 4-4-2 with Panamanian Blas Perez and Colombian Fabian Castillo up top.  Though the final score was only 4-0, the team created numerous opportunities with the first team and looked efficient and dangerous offensively.

FC Dallas star midfielder Brek Shea is among 23 players U.S. Under-23 Men’s National Team head coach Caleb Porter named for a 10-day training camp in Frisco, Texas. The camp begins Feb. 19 and culminates with a match against Mexico’s U-23 National Team on Wed., Feb. 29 at FC Dallas Stadium. DALLAS - 2010 MLS MVP David Ferreira visited team doctors on Wednesday to evaluate the progress of his fractured ankle suffered last April.  Though Ferreira has yet to appear in any FC Dallas’ scrimmages or exhibitions this offseason, the prognosis is good for the Colombian midfielder.
