Having competed in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup since 1996, FC Dallas has forged a record of 25-14-0 all-time in the competition. FC Dallas won the tournament in 1997, two years before the competition was rebranded in honor of FC Dallas’ eventual owner, Lamar Hunt.
