FRISCO, Texas - It’s going to be a good weekend for Eric Hassli. FC Dallas has the rare weekend off from MLS action this weekend, the imposing striker will celebrate his 32nd birthday on Friday, and he gets to go to the Jimmy Buffett concert at FC Dallas Stadium on Saturday.
“I’m a big, big fan,” Hassli told FCDallas.com after training Thursday. “I started listening to him with my father-in-law and I just can’t wait, man.”
The French forward said he’s only been a fan of Buffett’s music for a few years, and although he’s never been to one of his concerts, he’s looking forward to hearing “Margaritaville” live for the first time.
“I’m happy because it’s right after my birthday,” said Hassli. “We’ll go to the concert and my mother-in-law and father-in-law will be in town, so I’m really, really happy.”
The striker’s first encounter with Parrotheads promises to be quite the experience, as anyone who’s ever been in Frisco when Buffett rolls through town can attest to. But no matter what Hassli’s impression of Buffett’s throngs of fanatical fans turns out to be, he knows the concert will make this birthday weekend a memorable one.
“His songs are really relaxing and I just enjoy it. Jimmy Buffett is awesome.”
