FRISCO, Texas – The FC Dallas Academy and Pre Academy teams traveled south to take on Texans SC Houston over the weekend and came home with just a single point after losing three of four matches on the road. While the Academy teams came away with nearly identical losses, the U-13s came out on the wrong end of a goalfest and the U-14s salvaged the lone point of the weekend for the club. The U-15s were idle over the weekend.
FC Dallas U-18s: 1
Texans SC Houston: 2
The U-18s found themselves on the ropes early after Houston's Nathan Ariaya scored in the second minute. Timothy Lagrimas doubled the lead for the home side in the 20th minute with his fifth goal of the season. FC Dallas pulled one back in the 35th minute when Homegrown forward Jonathan Top scored his ninth goal in just 12 games played with the Academy this season, but the 2-1 result held through a scoreless second half to hand the U-18s their fourth loss of the season.
With the Texas Division already clinched, the loss had no effect on FCD's place in the standings, but the result did give Texans SC Houston a six-point lead for second place in the division over Solar Chelsea SC.
FC Dallas U-16s: 1
Texans SC Houston: 2
Much like the U-18s, the U-16s found themselves fighting out of a two-goal hole in their weekend matchup. The scoring started in the 14th minute when Houston forward Emmanuel Usen scored his 21st goal of the season. Usen ran his total up to 22 in the second half with a strike in the 56th minute. FC Dallas forward Erick Chapa cut the lead in half six minutes later with his fourth goal of the season, but the team couldn't manage an equalizer and fell 2-1.
With the loss, the U-16s remain in fourth place in the Texas Division, four points behind second-place Texans SC Houston in the race for the last Texas Division playoff spot. However, the U-16s do currently hold the last seed in the Wild Card race thanks to their 1.69 overall points per games played average.
FC Dallas U-14s: 0
Texans SC Houston: 0
Despite being the only FCD side not to score a goal on the weekend, the U-14s were also the only sqad to bring a point back to Dallas after playing Texans SC Houston to a scoreless draw on Sunday. It marked just the second time this season the U-14s were held off the scoresheet as they remained undefeated through 19 games played.
FC Dallas U-13s: 3
Texans SC Houston: 5
The U-13s scored more goals than the other three FCD teams combined, but still found themselves on the losing end of an eight-goal game. Eddie Munjoma scored a brace in the match and Adrian Ramos scored his first goal of the season as the U-13s fell 5-3 on the road.
