FRISCO, Texas – Forget about it.
With three straight losses in a week and the first third of the season done, it’s the best option for FC Dallas to do according to coach Schellas Hyndman as his squad tries to regroup.
“All we’re doing now is focusing on the next 11 games,” Hyndman said. “If we can do that, it gives us a very good chance to forget about the last game or the last couple games.”
The players had their first training of the week Tuesday after having Monday off.
Hyndman said FC Dallas’ 3-6-3 record “is what it is” and “probably where we are” at this point in the season.
“We’ve had some bad luck with some late goals and bad luck keeping the players on the field,” Hyndman said. “You can say that’s bad luck, discipline or intelligence, but those are things that are in our control.”
Surprising to some was that Zach Loyd was red carded during the match and is now automatically unavailable for Saturday vs Philadelphia (7:30 p.m. CT on Fox Sports Southwest).
It was Loyd’s first-ever red card in his MLS career.
Hyndman said he had no issue with the first yellow on Loyd after he reviewed it on film.
“The second one was just really kind of disappointing because we had talked about it at halftime,” Hyndman said. “Just to be aware, we’re playing really well and we want to keep 11 players on the field.”
Hyndman said Loyd regretted earning his second yellow, which had the team down to ten men for most of the second half.
“I think you get, good or bad, you’ll get everything you have from Zach on every play on the ball,” Hyndman said.
