Major League Soccer announces four Generation adidas signings, two NCAA senior signings
With the 2014 MLS SuperDraft just two weeks away and FCD holding the #5 overall pick, all FC Dallas fans should pay close attention to this year's draft class and six of the players that could be candidates for FCD's 1st round pick were announced today.
The first four members of the 2014 Generation adidas class were revealed on Thursday afternoon with UCONN goalkeeper Andre Blake, Louisville midfielder Marlon Hairston, Creighton defender Eric Miller and Maryland attacker Schillo Tshuma announced as 2014 draft-eligible players. Generation adidas players are those signed to MLS contracts before their senior year of college and are typically very desirable to MLS teams as their salaries do not count against MLS salary budgets. It remains to be seen exactly how many Generation adidas players will be announced for the 2014 campaign, but FCD has typically been very open to drafting GA players with three selected in the last five drafts including 2013 draft pick Walker Zimmerman.
Two other college seniors that could certainly have some interest to FC Dallas were signed to MLS contracts today as Maryland forward Patrick Mullins and Georgetown attacking midfielder Steve Neumann inked deals.
Stay tuned to FCDallas.com over the next two weeks as we break down the draft prospects and who could be headed to Frisco ahead of our coverage from Philadelphia two weeks from today.
