Academy Update: Teams play final matches before three-week break

U-18s travel to Mexico; U-16s prepare for Dallas Cup

FRISCO –While the FC Dallas Academy teams dealt with the absences of players on National Team Duty and others who played in Sunday’s Reserve game against the Houston Dynamo, the Pre Academy teams continued to succeed.

FC Dallas U-18s: 1
Texans SC Houston: 1

The U-18s' winning streak ended with a 1-1 draw to Texans SC Houston. The U-18s refused to go away in the second half and Yomeri Reyes scored his third goal of the season off of a free kick by Aaron Meyer. With 14 crosses and 12 shots, the U-18s created plenty of opportunities, but couldn’t cash in on a game-winning goal.

The U-18s remain in first place in the Frontier Division with an overall record of 12-3-3.

FC Dallas U-16s: 1
Texans SC Houston: 2

The U-16s had a tough match against the Texans. After an early Houston goal, the U-16s were forced to play catch up and play more aggressively. Houston took advantage and scored another goal off a counter attack. In the 62nd minute Santiago Agudelo cut the lead in half with a header off a corner kick from Nico Zaldana.

In the end the two-goal deficit was too big to overcome and the U-16s suffered their first loss of 2013. The U-16s fell to third in the Frontier Division with an overall record of 13-2-2.

FC Dallas U-15s: 3
Texans SC Houston: 0

The U-15s shut out Texans to extend their win streak to 12 games. Their three goals came courtesy of Fino Garcia, Eric Daniels and Daniel Spears. The U-15s are first in the Texas Pre Academy League with a record of 12-0-4.

FC Dallas U-14s:  4
Texans SC Houston: 0

The U-14s beat Houston 4-0 with goals coming from David Martinez, Eddie Mujoma, Duncan James and Christian Nunez. The U-14s remain in first place in the Texas Pre Academy League with an overall record of 13-2-3.

FC Dallas U-13s: 0
Texans SC Houston: 0

The U-13s tied Texans SC Houston 0-0 but remain first in Texas Pre Academy League with 36 points and a record of 10-1-6
