Dempsey returns to Spurs' line-up; Liga MX starts up

Recent News:  Tottenham  Hotspur bounced back from a 2-1 loss to Everton in early December, closing out the month  with 5-1-1 record in December. The Spurs edged out Swansea 1-0 and tied Stoke 0-0 before picking up steam and rolling over Aston Villa 4-0. Tottenham ended December on a positive note defeating Sunderland 2-1. The Spurs carried that momentum into January -- defeating Reading 3-1 and Coventry 3-0 to extend their winning streak to four.  Dempsey started and played 69 minutes in the Spurs victory over Swansea, but a groin injury left him sidelined for the next two matches. He was eased back into the line-up, playing 16 minutes against Sunderland and against Reading.  Against Reading, he scored one of the Spurs’ three goals. Dempsey returned to the starting line-up against Coventry and responded with a 90 minute two-goal performance. Tottenham is third in the Premier League table with a record of 12-6-3 (39 points) and a match against QPR on the road this Saturday.

Recent News:  Derby County finished with a record of 2-3-1 in December. They beat Bristol City 2-0 but fell to Hull City 1-2 and Burnley 2-0 before tying Charlton 1-1. Despite a rough December the Rams have started January strong, beating Middlesbrough 3-1 and rolling over Tranmere 5-0. Doyle made it back onto the field against Tranmere. He played a little under 12 minutes. Derby County remains 10th in the nPower Championship table with a record of 10-9-7 and will face Brighton on the road this Saturday.

Club: Club Tijuana (Mexico – Liga MX)

Recent News:  Club Tijuana opened the 2013 Clausura with a 2-1 win over Puebla last Sunday. Garza did not play in the match. Club Tijuana is tied for first with a 1-0-0 record, but is currently ranked third due to goal differential. It will square off with León this Saturday.

Recent News:  The Tigres defeated the Jaguares 3-0 last Saturday. Torres did not appear in the game. The Tigres are 1-0-0 and in first place. They will face Atlante this Sunday.

Recent News: In its last four games in December Leicester City went 1-2-1, falling to Millwall 1-0 and Cardiff 1-0 before forcing a draw with Hull City and defeating Burnley 1-0. Leicester City has won its first two games in January, defeating Huddersfield 6-1. Whitbread played 90 minutes in Leicester City’s matches against Millwall, Cardiff, and Hull City. Whitbread did not play against Burnley, Huddersfield. In FA Cup play, Leicester defeated Burton Alboin 2-0, but Whitbread did not see action. Leicester City is 5th in the nPower Championship with a record of 13-8-5 (44 points) and a match with Middlesbrough Friday, January 18.
