After cruising through the first four rounds of the NCAA Championship tournament, FC Dallas Academy products London Woodberry and Mikey Ambrose and the rest of the University of Maryland Terrapins met Georgetown in the NCAA College Cup semifinals. On Friday, December 7, the Terps played the Hoyas in a thrilling match that featured eight goals in regulation, two scoreless overtime periods and a penalty kick shootout that saw Georgetown advance to the final.

Maryland got back to within one in the 59th minute, but Georgetown scored again in the 61st. Ambrose then set up Maryland's third goal in the 74th minute, and the Terps tied the game in the 77th.

After 30 scoreless minutes of overtime, the match was decided in a penalty kick shootout. Although Woodberry converted his shot for the Terps, Maryland fell 4-3 in PKs.
