Shea, de Guzman and Rodriguez join respective national teams
Brek Shea (U.S.), Julian de Guzman (Canada) and Carlos Rodriguez (Panama) each joined their respective National Teams on Sunday to prepare for Wednesday’s international friendlies.
Shea traveled to Mexico City with the U.S. side, which will face rival Mexico on Aug. 15 at the Estadio Azteca. Kickoff for the USA’s first friendly against Mexico on Mexican soil since 1984 is set for 7 p.m. CT. The match will air live on ESPN2, ESPN3 and Univision.
De Guzman actually stayed on American soil as the Canadians prepare for their contest against Trinidad and Tobago at Central Broward Regional Stadium in Lauderhill, Fla. Meanwhile, Carlos Rodriguez and the Panamanian National Team will take on Portugal on Aug. 15 at 3 p.m. CT at Dr. Magalhaes Pessoa.
The trio will miss Wednesday’s FC Dallas game at Vancouver before rejoining the team in Salt Lake City for the weekend matchup versus Real Salt Lake.

De Guzman has 56 career caps with the Canadian National Team, having debuted for his country back in 2002. He was named tournament MVP in the 2007 Gold Cup and has been a member of four CONCACAF Gold Cup squads for Canada.
Rodriguez has four caps for the Panamanian side after making his debut with the senior national team one year ago.
