FC Dallas loans Moises Hernandez to Comunicaciones FC

Defender joins Guatemalan side for the remainder of 2012

FRISCO, Texas – FC Dallas homegrown defender Moises Hernandez will join Guatemalan side Comunicaciones FC beginning June 20 for a loan period through the remainder of 2012.

“We thought this was a good opportunity for a young player to get the games he needs to continue his development,” said FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman.  “We have 10 Reserve League games in a year, which is great, but an option like this gives Moises the chance to really speed up the growth process.”

Hernandez was one of three FC Dallas Academy players signed to a Homegrown contract on July 30, 2010.  Ineligible to play in MLS matches during the 2010 season, Hernandez made his professional debut against 2010 UEFA Champions League winner, Inter Milan on Aug.5, 2010 at FC Dallas Stadium. He played five minutes in the 2-2 draw.

Hernandez logged the second most minutes of any FC Dallas player in the 2011 MLS Reserve League (807). He saw time in nine of 10 Reserve League matches that season, helping the team to a 6-4-0 record. The defender has played 540 minutes for the FC Dallas Reserves (3-2-1) in 2012. Hernandez also made his U.S. Open Cup debut on May 29, 2012. He played 66 minutes after coming on for Zach Loyd.
