FC Dallas hosts Toronto FC in Independence Day Celebration presented by TXU Energy

North Texas’ largest fireworks display following match

FRISCO – TXU Energy is presenting an Independence Day Celebration at FC Dallas Stadium this Wednesday, July 4, when FC Dallas plays host to Toronto FC. The game kicks off at 8 p.m. and is followed by a spectacular fireworks show as part of the City of Frisco’s 10th annual Freedom Fest.

A pre-game acoustic performance by Jaret Reddick and Erik Chandler from Bowling for Soup will kick off the evening at Lamar’s Tailgate on the North Concourse. Fans can also visit the TXU Energy Beat the Heat Energy Free Nights’ booth on the North Concourse to cool off, grab Park Cash and Deja Blue water vouchers in the cash cube, take green screen photos with players’ images, and watch the Futboleros perform tricks. The first 3,000 children through the gates will receive a TXU Energy draw string back pack.

FC Dallas goalkeeper Kevin Hartman will be the honorary scarfer of the Lamar Hunt statue in recognition of his MLS record 400th game played. Ceremony will occur approximately 7 p.m. on the North Concourse.

Pre-game festivities will also feature a special skydiving demonstration by the four-member RE/MAX Skydiving team, two of them current or retired military: Tom Schroder and Mike Nugent.

For the fourth consecutive season, FC Dallas has teamed with the American Fallen Soldiers Project for a special halftime presentation. This year’s honoree is Frisco native Army Cpl. Peter J. Courcy, who was killed in action on Feb. 10, 2009. The AFSP was founded by artist Phil Taylor, who has created a special original portrait of Courcy that will be unveiled at halftime and presented to his parents, Chris and Mary Bush. Representatives from the AFSP will be collecting donations on the concourse during the game.

Tickets start at $15 and are available now online or by calling 888.FCD.GOAL (323.4625). Fans interested in donating Tickets for Troops to send some of our military heroes to the game, can contact the front office to learn more about the program or make a donation.
