FC Dallas expanding daily training program to include the Pre Academy for the 2012/2013 school year

Through our outstanding relationship with Frisco Independent School District, FC Dallas is pleased to
announce an expansion to our Soccer Intensive Academic Curriculum (SIAC) program.  In addition
to our Academy programming, we will be expanding our daily training program into the
Pre Academy (’97, ’98, and ’99 teams) beginning in August, 2012.

The SIAC program was started in August, 2010 allowing selected FC Dallas players the
opportunity to transfer into the Frisco school district at the high school level, attend Frisco
Liberty High School and increase the number of soccer training hours per week.  The
program has allowed many of the most talented student athletes in the region the
opportunity to practice more frequently than their peers.  It has also given FC Dallas players
the chance to stay on pace to graduate from a highly competitive school district by attending
an accelerated curriculum at school. This year, 40 student athletes in the FC Dallas Academy
train in the mornings at 8am Monday through Friday, and then go to school in the afternoons.
This program has helped FC Dallas become and remain the #1 youth development program in the
country (as decided on by the US Soccer Development Academy Technical Staff) for
two years in a row.

Starting this August (2012), Frisco Independent School District is allowing FC Dallas
the opportunity to place selected student athletes at Hunt Middle School, effectively opening
the program to 6th, 7th, and 8thgraders.  The expansion of the program into younger ages will
enable FC Dallas to begin training our Pre Academy teams 5 times per week.  Selected
players will be able to transfer into FISD and participate in the FC Dallas Academy and Pre Academy.

Selected players who would like to participate who are home schooled, attend a charter school,
private school, or have other non traditional academic schedules can be in the program as long
as they are able to make all trainings.

The schedule for the 2012/2013 school year will be as follows:

Players born January 1, 1994 or later

U18 Academy – training 8:00 am – 10:00 am (M-F), then attend school at Liberty HS

in 2012

* The FC Dallas U15, U14, and U13 Pre Academy will participate in the Texas Pre Academy League
(TEPAL) in 2012

The purpose of the FC Dallas Academy and Pre Academy programs is to identify talented players
and develop them for the FC Dallas MLS roster (to date, wehave signed six).  FC Dallas continues
also to produce players at every level to the National Teams (US and Mexico -32 different players
over the past 4 years). The club has also produced hundreds of players to the college ranks and is
committed to each of our players by aiding them in the college recruitment process.  In addition to
being one of the few programs in the country to have a full time college director, we host an annual
college showcase in March, college camps in June, provide online tools for college selection, and
SAT/ACT preparation, host college seminars, and provide year round exposure for all of our
future college athletes.

The SIAC program, our shared vision with FISD, and the quality and frequency of training that we will
be able to offer a highly talented player pool will ensure that FC Dallas continues to be a leader
in youth development in the US.  We would like to recognize and thank the Frisco Independent
School District, Dr. Reedy, Dr. Waldrip, Dr. Burdett, Dr. Nye, and the campuses and staff at Liberty
High School and Hunt Middle School for all of their support, without which this program
would not be possible.
