FC Dallas hosted the New York Red Bulls last weekend in a season-opening 2-1 win at FC Dallas Stadium; the inaugural MLS match to be broadcasted on the NBC Sports Network. With First Kick in the rearview, FCD now prepare to host the Portland Timbers on St. Patrick's Day. And remember, don't support the Timbers by wearing green at FC Dallas Stadium this Saturday: GO RED instead!

The 2012 FC Dallas kit was unveiled 10 days before the season opener. Several players showcased their new duds in a professional photo shoot, and the Dallas Morning News put together a photo gallery featuring some of the best shots.

Friday, March 9: Andrew Wiedeman in-studio with Vydra (102.1 The Edge KDGE FM)

Andrew Wiedeman paid a special visit to new in-game host Vydra at her day job as the morning host on local alternative radio station 102.1 The Edge. During the interview, Wiedeman talked about the preseason coming to an end, the excitement surrounding First Kick, and the upcoming match on St. Patrick's Day against the Portland Timbers.

Sunday, March 11: MLS Gaining Momentum (NBC 5)

With FCD's season opener being the first MLS match aired on the NBC Sports Network, the local NBC affiliate capitalized on the access and aired a feature about the growth of the league and increasing popularity of soccer in this country. NBC 5 Sports' David Watkins interviewed USMNT head coach Jurgen Klinsmann about the league's contributions to the National Team.

Tuesday, March 13: Power Ranking: West teams romp but champs fall (SoccerAmerica)

Portland's match against the Philadelphia Union rounded out the opening weekend of matches for the 2012 MLS season. SoccerAmerica's MLS Confidential wasted no time publishing their first Power Rankings of the year. FC Dallas checked in at second place this week, second only to Real Salt Lake - who toppled the defending champs over the weekend.
