Academy Update: U-18s return to win column
FRISCO, Texas – The FC Dallas Academy teams faced Classics Elite Soccer Academy for the first time since week one last weekend in San Antonio. The U-18s returned to the win column with authority this week, while the U-16s posted their third straight draw against Classics. The U-14 and U-13 Pre Academy teams also returned to league play against Classics Elite last weekend, but the U-15s were out of action once again.
FC Dallas U-18s: 6
Classics Elite: 0
After suffering their first loss of the season two weeks ago against the Dallas Texans, the U-18s made an example out of Classics Elite, posting a 6-0 shutout on the road. Team-leading scorer Danny Garcia bagged his first hat trick of the season, scoring in the 10th, 20th and 47th minutes to bring his season total to 16 through 14 games played. Midfielder David Robledo scored a brace with goals in the 26th and 83rd minutes while midfielder Kellyn Acosta scored his first goal with the U-18s this year in the 56th minute.
Halfway through the 2011-12 Development Academy season, the U-18s boast a record of 12-1-2 and maintain a healthy 11-point lead over second place Solar Chelsea SC in the Texas Division.
FC Dallas U-16s: 2
Classics Elite: 2
The U-16s thumped Classics Elite 7-0 when they last met back in September, and were poised to shutout their counterparts from San Antonio again after establishing a two-goal lead early in the second half last Sunday. Alberto Galvan scored his second goal of the season in the eighth minute and Developmental Player Juan Amaro built on the lead with his first goal in the 47th. FC Dallas couldn't hold on to the advantage however, as Classics Developmental Player Mitchell Hopkins cut the lead in half in the 53rd minute and midfielder Jose Jaramillo tied the game in the 64th.
With an overall record of 5-4-6, the FC Dallas U-16s sit in fourth place of a fairly tight Texas Division on 17 points. They sit 10 points behind the undefeated division-leading Dallas Texans.
FC Dallas U-14s: 2
Classics Elite: 0
The U-14s returned to league play this weekend after their fine showing at Mundialito 2012 in Bolivia earlier this month. They defeated Classics Elite 2-0 to remain undefeated in league play with a record of 9-0-1. FCD's goals came from Jessi Najera and Dominick Falletto.
FC Dallas U-13s: 3
Classics Elite: 3
The U-13 Pre Academy team saw their first action of 2012 in a shootout with Classics Elite that ended in a 3-3 draw. FCD's goals came from Roberto Andrade, Duncan James and Alex Gerondale. It was the first draw of the year for the U-13s and brought their league record to 4-5-1.

The FC Dallas Academy and Pre Academy teams will face the Texas Rush this weekend for the first time this season. Both the Rush U-18 and U-16 teams currently sit in seventh place in the Texas Division.
