Academy Update: Pre Academy teams return to action
FRISCO, Texas – The FC Dallas Academy teams returned to action for the first time since the Development Academy Winter Showcase two weeks ago, while the Pre Academy teams took to the pitch for the first time in over a month. The squads took on Solar Chelsea SC for the second time this year, and came away with three wins, a loss and a draw from the five matches.
FC Dallas U-18s: 4
Solar Chelsea SC: 0
The U-18s duplicated their last meeting with Solar when they posted another 4-0 win last weekend. Midfielder Flavio Guzman started the scoring in the 12th minute, and defender Alex Frankenfeld doubled the lead two minutes later with his first goal of the season. After the half, leading scorer Danny Garcia tallied his 13th goal of the year in the 56th minute and forward Bobby Edet finished off the scoring in the 67th with his fourth strike of the season.
The shutout gave FCD their 11th overall win of the season and 28 points within the Texas Division. The U-18s have been in first place in their division since the beginning of the season and have a 10-point cushion ahead of second place Texans SC Houston.
FC Dallas U-16s: 2
Solar Chelsea SC: 2
The U-16s edged out Solar 3-2 when they met in October, but had to battle back to earn a 2-2 draw in last weekend’s match. Midfielder Abdulraham Yassine gave FCD the lead in the 13th minute with his fourth goal of the year. But Solar midfielder Alan Winn answered back with a brace, scoring in the 30th and 42nd minutes to put the visitors ahead by one. Not to be outdueled, Yassine bagged a brace of his own by scoring the game-tying goal in the 66th minute to earn the point for FC Dallas.
That point was good enough to boost FCD up to second place in the Texas Division. The U-16s sit one point ahead of third place Texans SC Houston, and eight points behind their next opponent, the division-leading Dallas Texans.
FC Dallas U-15s: 3
Solar Chelsea SC: 0
The U-15 Pre Academy team suffered their first loss of the season when they were shutout by Solar in week five, but they returned the favor last weekend by blanking their opponent 3-0 last weekend. Sanders Bradford contributed two of the three goals in the win, and Santiago Agudelo chipped in his second goal of the season.
FC Dallas U-14s: 4
Solar Chelsea SC: 1
The U-14s posted their eighth win in nine games when they beat Solar 4-1 last weekend. FC Dallas goals came from Richard Tapia, Dominick Faletto, Jessi Najera and Christian Ramirez, who scored his 11th goal of the season against Solar.
FC Dallas U-13s: 0
Solar Chelsea SC: 3
The U-13s were shut out by Solar for the second time this year when they suffered a 3-0 loss last weekend. It was the team’s second consecutive loss.
