Academy Update: U-18s, U-14s remain undefeated
The FC Dallas Academy and Pre Academy teams were in action again this weekend, going 2-2-1 against the Houston Dynamo. The Pre Academy made up their rained out Week Four games against the Dallas Texans on Wednesday night, going 0-1-2.
The U-18s followed up their first draw of the season last weekend with a 5-0 win over the Dynamo, while the U-16s could not maintain their scoring pace from the previous weekend and left Houston with a 1-1 draw. The U-15s only found the net once in their two games, losing against the Dynamo 1-0 and tying the Dallas Texans 1-1. The U-14s stayed undefeated on the season but took their first draw against the Texans on Wednesday night in a 0-0 game. The U-13s lost consecutive games while scoring only one goal in a 2-1 loss against the Dynamo on Saturday.
Player of the Week
Academy midfielder Danny Garcia continued his torrid scoring output this week. Garcia registered his third brace of the year against the Houston Dynamo and assisted on two more of the teams five goals in a shutout win. On Wednesday, the young midfielder appeared with the FC Dallas Reserves in their final game of the season against Sporting Kansas City. Garcia came on in the 87th minute, and just six minutes later slotted a shot between the 'keeper’s legs to put the game far out of reach.

Houston Dynamo: 0
The game winning goal for Dallas was scored in the 11th minute when Flavio Guzman scored his second goal of the season. The game stayed tied until the 43rd minute when defender Mark Ashby gave Dallas a 2-0 lead. Just two minutes later, Garcia beat the halftime whistle with his team-leading sixth goal and registered his seventh in the 78th. Marco Carrizales netted his first goal of the year between Garcia's brace in the 49th minute. Goalkeepers Richard Sanchez and Eduardo Cortes combined for the shutout against the Texas Derby rivals. The result keeps the U-18s in first place in the USSDA's Texas Division.

Houston Dynamo: 1
The U-16s conceded a 9th minute goal to Houston's Denzel Ward and played down 1-0 for much of the match. They tied the game in the 73rd minute when Kellyn Acosta scored his second goal of the year from the penalty spot. FCD couldn’t score again and took the 1-1 tie. The U-16s are tied for fourth place in the Texas Division with the Dynamo and Lonestar Academy and will next face Lonestar in the last weekend of November.

Last week, the U-15s scored six goals to break a streak of being shut out three consecutive games. FCD couldn't find the net against the Dynamo last weekend, but came back to draw in a midweek game against the Dallas Texans. Miguel Ojeda netted his first goal of the year to earn the 1-1 draw with the Texans.

The U-14s are still undefeated on the year after picking up their first draw of the season against the Dallas Texans. The U-14s have only allowed one goal through eight games this year. On Saturday, Jessi Najera registered his fourth and fifth goals of the season while Weston McKinnie scored his eighth and Delfino Garcia scored his second. The U-14s have scored four or more goals in every game this season before their scoreless midweek tie.

Houston Dynamo: 2 Dallas Texans: 2
The U-13s lost back-to-back games for the second time this year after falling to the Dynamo and the Texans this week. Duncan James scored his team leading fourth goal against the Dynamo on Saturday. On Wednesday, FCD was shut out for only the second time this season.

The FC Dallas Academy and Pre Academy teams return to USSDA action in the last weekend of November when they'll face Lonestar SC for the second time this season. The U-13s and U-16s will try and avenge week three losses to Lonestar while the U-18s, U-15s and U-14s all earned shutouts against their week three opponents.
