Academy Update: U-18s, U-14s still perfect
FRISCO, Texas – The FC Dallas Academy and Pre Academy teams returned from Houston last weekend with three wins and two losses. The U-18 Academy team got their fourth straight shutout to remain perfect on the season, while the U-16 Academy team suffered their third loss of the year. In the weekend’s Pre Academy matches the U-15s lost in a shutout for the second week in a row, the U-14s shutout their opponents for the fifth straight game, and the U-13s got back into the win column with a 2-1 victory.

FC Dallas U-18s: 2
For the second week in a row the U-18s prospered from a first half brace scored by midfielder Danny Garcia and a clean sheet by the defense and goalkeeper Eduardo Cortes. Garcia’s first of the day came in the 27th minute off an assist from captain Michael Ambrose, just 10 minutes before defender Alex Frankenfeld set up the midfielder’s second goal in the 37th minute.
Garcia’s brace gave him the team lead in goals scored with five on the season. The win extended the team’s shutout streak to 360 minutes and increased their lead atop the Texas Division standings to a seven point margin. With an untarnished record of 6-0-0, the FC Dallas U-18s are the only team in the division to have won more than three games.

FC Dallas U-16s: 1
The U-16s fell to Texans SC in Houston on Saturday by a score of 2-1. Alexis Delarosa scored in the 15th minute to give the home team a one goal advantage that stood through the first half. FC Dallas tied the match in the 64th minute when Milton Rosales scored his second of the season, but Texans SC reclaimed the lead six minutes from full time thanks to Bryan Estrada’s game winning goal.
The loss bumped the U-16s back down to fifth place in the Texas Division, with a record of 2-3-1 and seven points on the season. Despite the loss, FCD is still just three points shy of second place in the division.

FC Dallas U-15s: 0
The U-15 Pre Academy team was shutout for the second straight week as they suffered a 4-0 shutout on Sunday. It was the squad’s second loss of the season and dropped their record to 2-2-1 through their first five games.

FC Dallas U-14s: 4
The U-14s continued their excellent run of form as they beat Texans SC 4-0 and still haven’t been scored on through five games this season. Richard Tapia and Christian Ramirez scored two goals apiece in the win, giving Tapia three goals on the year and Ramirez nine – the most among all FC Dallas Academy and Pre Academy players.

FC Dallas U-13s: 2
The U-13s returned to their winning ways on Sunday with a 2-1 win over Texans SC. James Ma scored his first goal of the year in Houston, and Chase Niece tallied his second of 2011 in the victory.

The FC Dallas Academy and Pre Academy teams will face their first repeat opponents of 2011 when they host Andromeda FC at Pizza Hut Park this weekend. The sides first met in the second week of the season when the U-18s won 3-2; the U-16s tied 2-2; the U-15s tied 1-1; the U-14s won 4-0; and the U-13s won 6-0.
