FCDallas.com: How is the team feeling heading into tonight’s game against Guatemala?

Hernandez: We feel good about the game versus Guatemala. We have been playing well in the last two games. We just have to stay focused and that will get us a good result .

FCDallas.com: You have a strong tie to Guatemala through your father. What’s it like for you to be playing, not only the host nation, but the nation your father is from? Will you have any family members at the game watching?

Hernandez: First of all, it's an honor to be playing for USA and it's going to be a hard game. Guatemala has all their country behind them and this game is one of those games that I will never forget because all my family - in Dallas and my family in Guatemala - are going to be watching this game, so it's going to be something special. I have been dreaming about this game since I was five years old, and it's finally here.

FCDallas.com: Overall, what has your experience in Guatemala been like so far?

Hernandez: My experience in Guatemala has been great. It's a very beautiful country and I got a chance to go visit my family already, so that was good.

FCDallas.com: What’s it been like to play with and get to know some of the other young up-and-coming players from other MLS teams?

Hernandez: It's great to be with all these guys. They're all very good players. Some of them have already gotten a chance to start for their clubs in the first few games of the MLS season.

FCDallas.com: How do you think this international experience will help prepare you to contribute for FC Dallas when the team has CONCACAF Champions League competitions this year?

Hernandez: It will help me to know what to expect when you are the away team in another country and by getting to know the different styles of play in these other countries.
