FC Dallas holds three picks in 2011 MLS SuperDraft

Dallas side looks to bolster squad that made franchise-first MLS Cup appearance

FRISCO, Texas – FC Dallas has three picks in
the 2011 MLS SuperDraft, which will be held on Thursday, Jan. 13 at the
Baltimore Convention Center in Maryland.

The three-round, 54-pick SuperDraft begins at 11 a.m. CT with
the first round aired live on ESPN2 and the subsequent two rounds streamed live
on MLSSoccer.com.

As the reigning Western Conference Champions, FC Dallas
earned its first trip to the MLS Cup in 2010 following a record-setting year
that saw the club set MLS marks for its 19-game unbeaten streak and its 12-game
road unbeaten streak. The Dallas side also tied the MLS mark for fewest losses
in an MLS season with four, while the Dallas defense allowed the fewest goals
against in club history with only 28 through 30 games.

As a result of the side’s spectacular run in 2010, FC Dallas
will have the 17th overall selection (first round), followed by the
35th (second round) and 53rd (third round) selections.

Three of FC Dallas’ 2010 SuperDraft selections saw MLS action
during the 2010 campaign, with Zach Loyd (5th overall –
1st round) and Eric Alexander (44th overall –
3rd round) currently with the U.S. Men’s National Team January
Camp.
