Quinn's charity challenges continue against Chicago
Texas – Having secured 2011 season tickets for the
Frisco Miracle League, Lift Up America, Dress for Success and the Frisco
Family YMCA, FC Dallas President and CEO Doug Quinn has challenged
Chicago Fire Technical Director Frank Klopas tomorrow in the “Get In and
Win Charity Challenge.”
An FC Dallas victory would send four
2011 season tickets to the Dallas League of United Latin American
Citizens (LULAC), courtesy of Klopas. The tickets would benefit Hispanic
youth scholarships. However, should FC Dallas fall for the first time
in 18 games, Quinn must purchase four 2011 Chicago Fire season tickets
for the Chicago Fire Foundation, of which Klopas is also the President.
The “Get In and Win Charity Challenge” has already produced 14
tickets for Dallas charities since Aug. 21. Quinn intends to carry on
his charitable ticket donations for all remaining 2010 FC Dallas games.
week, Quinn chose the LULAC in honor of FC Dallas’ celebration of
Hispanic Heritage Night. The LULAC is the largest and oldest Hispanic
Organization in the United States dedicated to advancing the economic
condition, educational attainment, political influence, health and civil
rights of Hispanic Americans through community-based programs operating
at more than 700 LULAC councils nationwide. The organization involves
and serves all Hispanic nationality groups.
LULAC has focused heavily on education, civil rights, and employment
for Hispanics. LULAC councils provide more than a million dollars in
scholarships to Hispanic students each year, conduct citizenship and
voter registration drives, develop low income housing units, conduct
youth leadership training programs, and seek to empower the Hispanic
community at the local, state and national level.

of childhood friend and Chivas USA President Shawn Hunter. The two
wagered the charitable donation on the outcome of the Aug. 21 match
between their two sides, which saw Dallas finish on top 1-0. Dallas
continued its hot-streak by breaking the all-time MLS record for a road
unbeaten streak with a draw in Columbus on Aug. 28. Following the match,
Quinn donated four 2011 season tickets to Lift Up America. Quinn then
sent the Dallas branch of Dress for Success two 2011 season tickets as
FC Dallas defeated Toronto FC 1-0 on Sept. 4.
The club’s “Get In
and Win” season ticket campaign delivers huge savings to new and
returning season ticket holders. Anyone who renews or purchases 2011
season tickets before Monday, Oct. 4 will receive either a 30-40 percent
discount on the 2010 pricing for 2011 season tickets, or a free seat
