When: June 26th
Where: Toyota Stadium-Frisco, Texas
Event title: FC Dallas vs. Houston Dynamo (Novo Nordisk title night)
Summary: The Mobile Marketing Tour appeared back at Toyota Stadium since the last stop in May 15th since. FC Dallas took round two of this year’s Texas Derby by defeating the Houston Dynamo 2-0 in the first home game back after 5 back-to-back road games. The match was delayed for just over an hour after storms, and moderate rainfall fell throughout the entire match. Fans gathered at the tent and spun the prize wheel to win Toyota beads, FC Dallas pencils, Texas Health Resources towels, Cricket Wireless T-shirts, TXU Energy drawstring bags, FC Dallas koozies, and FC Dallas stickers & tattoos. The inflatable Toyota goal displayed Nesquick, Advocare, TXU Energy, Cricket Wireless, and Texas Health Resources on the top goal post. The shootouts at the inflatable were challenging for both old and young and it brought out the competitive spirit out of all that took a shot. The tour went on from 6:00 pm- 7:30 pm and was short lived because of the sudden down pour. Fans still enjoyed winning great prizes and had a great experience thanks to our sponsors.

Two games into the U.S. Soccer Development Academy playoffs and FC Dallas U-16 Academy team is undefeated while the U-18s dropped a tough one Wednesday.

It didn’t take long for Otis Earle to make an immediate impact for Arizona United SC after being loaned to the team last Thursday.
In fact, it only took 63 minutes Saturday in his first game with FCD’s USL affiliate to help give Arizona United a 2-1 win over Seattle Sounders 2. Earle played a cross back post that found Long Tan’s head to complete a four-minute comeback to win the game. He finished the game playing all 90 minutes.
“It was really nice to play in a full game,” Earle told ODFCNews.com. “It was just nice to get my legs out there, to be with the team and play 90 minutes of a competitive game. And obviously getting the three points was the icing on the cake.”
The assist came after FCD’s other loanee, Danny Garcia, went with the short corner to Jonathan Top who then struck a shot that deflected off a Sounder defender into the net to tie it 1-1 in the 59th minute. Garcia’s performance earned him Man of the Match.
The FCD loanees now look to their Saturday match against Real Monarchs SLC at 7:30 p.m. in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Arizona United SC overcame an early deficit and defeated the Seattle Sounders FC 2, 2-1. Jonathan Top scored the opening goal and Long Tan scored the match winner moments later. It’s derby week once again as FC Dallas returns home from a five-game road swing with the Houston Dynamo making their first MLS appearance at Toyota Stadium since March 17, 2013.
Not only is the Texas Derby pres. by Novo Nordisk a heated battle on the field, but through the Derby Donates initiative, it is now a way for both teams to come together and give back to their local communities. This week, there are three different ways that the FC Dallas Foundation and Dynamo Charities are getting involved.
First, through the “Every Save Makes a Difference” initiative and partnership between MLS WORKS, Allstate and Univision Deportes, for every save made in the Texas Derby, $500 will be donated to that team’s designated community organization. The FC Dallas Foundation has chosen Soccer Assist as the beneficiary for each save made, while Dynamo Charities has chosen Neighborhood Centers Inc. Harbach-Ripley as theirs.
The second initiative is a friendly competition between each foundation. The losing team’s foundation will be donating $1,000 worth of soccer equipment to a charity in the wining team’s community. Should FC Dallas win, Dynamo Charities will donate equipment to America Scores Dallas. And should Houston win, the FC Dallas Foundation will donate to Neighborhood Centers Inc. Harbach-Ripley.
Finally, FCD president Dan Hunt has personally challenged FC Dallas fans to show their support leading up to Friday’s match. For every tweet using #CrushTheOrange, Hunt will personally donate $1 to the FC Dallas Foundation, up to $1,000. We’ve made it easy for you to do so with the Tweet buttons!
No matter the result on the field, both teams will be contributing to the greater good of their local communities this rivalry week.
