Attention all FC Dallas fans! We're doing great in 2013 MLS All-Star voting so far with Raul Fernandez 3rd among all goalkeepers, but it's time to ramp things up!

Today, June 20, at 11:00AM MLS All-Star Twitter voting gets underway! Here's the details:

  • Voting is open until from 12pm ET Thursday, June 20 to 11:59pm ET Friday, June 21, 2013. A short window, so make sure you get as many tweets in as you can.
  • An eligible vote consists of the hashtag #MLSAllStar

    • AND the player's full name (first and last required) with or without a space (Example: Raul Fernandez, or RaulFernandez);
    • OR their twitter @handle (Example: @RaulFernandezV1).
  • A user may vote for multiple players in a tweet; however, a user may not vote for a single player multiple times within one tweet.
  • A user may only vote for players on the All-Star ballot (click here to see the full ballot).
  • There is no limit to the number of tweets a user may submit for any one player. Go nuts.
  • Each Twitter vote counts equal to one text vote, or one online vote.

So you've got 140 characters to vote for all six of the nominated players. Unfortunately, however much a few of our players may have been snubbed from the ballot(we won't name names), a vote for them isn't valid so focus your tweets on the six players that count!

Tweet suggestion: #MLSAllStar #VoteFCD #DTID @RaulFernandezV1 Jackson DavidFerreira Michel KennyCooper @Superraton7

Get to voting! #DTID

After a brilliant game against Portland which saw him record seven saves, it's no surprise that Raul Fernandez is nominated for Mlssoccer.com's Save of the Week. Fernandez's save in the 39th minute earned the nod. Voting is open until Thursday at 11:59 pm pacific time. Fernandez was also named the #1 performer of the week in the Top 3 Performers for week 16.

Further recognition rolled in for Raul who was also named to MLS' Team of the Week, alongside Zach Loyd, who had a solid defensive effort against Portland in addition to a goal against Houston in Open Cup action. Here's what Nicholas Rosano had to say about the duo:

GK: Raúl Fernández (FC Dallas) –Dallas may have lost in Portland, dropping a 1-0 result, but it would have been much worse had the Peruvian 'keeper not made a string of ridiculous saves worthy of any highlight reel.

DF: Zach Loyd (FC Dallas) – Just ahead of Fernández, the right back did the best out of any of Dallas' defenders on the night on both sides of the ball, frustrating Portland out wide for long stretches of the game and getting forward to good effect.

David Ferreira got some attention for his performance on Saturday, as well. The midfielder came in at number 16 on the weekly Castrol Index Top 20, his second time making the list this season.

This week’s power rankings results were not too positive for FC Dallas following a loss to Portland on the road. All but one of the weekly rankings moved the team down at least one spot, but the team stil remains in everyone's top five. FC Dallas has a chance to bounce back with a home match Saturday against Sporting KC.

Soccer America moved Portland to the top, dropping FC Dallas one spot to number three.

Even by the stratospheric standards of Jeld-Wen Field, the roars and celebrations that saluted Nagbe’s strike in the 53rd minute skewed off the scale. Rival keepers Donovan Ricketts and Raul Fernandez each had seven saves and FCD, even without Panama striker Blas Perez, could well have departed with a tie. This game showcased the league nicely to an ESPN audience that had just seen Brazil thump Japan in the Confederations Cup.

Yahoo Sports left FC Dallas at number two and had some encouraging words:

They're atop the overall league standings and they won't always be without their key front man. Dallas are going to be just fine.

FC Dallas dropped just one spot to #3 according to mlssoccer.com:

Lost, and were outclassed. But thanks to another spectacular performance from Raúl Fernández, they had a legit chance at a point up until the final whistle. Very impressive, especially considering they were without all three of their target forwards.

ESPN FC dropped FCD two spots to number five after the loss:

Injury, international duty and a family emergency for Kenny Cooper all conspired to rob FC Dallas of any striking threat, yet Schellas Hyndman's side still made a game of it in Portland only to fall 1-0. Raul Fernandez put on a goalkeeping clinic.

ProSoccerTalk switched FC Dallas and Portland, moving FCD to number two:.

The team has three top-shelf strikers, but circumstance conspired to keep all three off the field for most of the 1-0 loss to Portland.

As two FC Dallas Academy alumni on the boys side get ready to represent their country at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup, one of FCD's most talented young female players is just starting out her youth national team career.

Midfielder Abby-Grace Cooper, a member of Matt Grubb's under-15 FC Dallas ECNL squad, recently wrapped up a week with head coach April Kater's US Under-14 Girls National Team. Cooper was called up for the eight-day camp, the first for this youngest group of youth national teamers, and she couldn't have been more excited to make the squad/

"I was surprised but in an excited way," said Cooper. "I have worked very hard and I think I deserved the chance. I just didn't expect it to be in the early part of the year."

Just at the start of her budding youth national team career, Cooper says these camps show her exactly the level she needs to attain to represent her country.

"It raises my game, because it gives me a look into the top level of play in the country," said Cooper. "It gives me bench marks to work at and bring back to my club. I learned that if you have the skill that's great, but if you don't have the passion and drive you will not go very far. I do know that I have the passion and the desire to work hard toward the goal of the US National Team."

17 June 1:09 pm

FC Dallas may have lost a heartbreaker in Portland on Saturday, but Raul Fernandez had another amazing game in the goal with seven saves. As a result, the nominations and honors are already pouring in for Fernandez who leads MLS goalkeepers in saves this season.

It's only Monday, but Fernandez has already been nominated for MLSsoccer.com's Top 3 Performers of the Week and El Latino de la Jornada for Week 16. Voting for Top 3 closes tonight at 7:00 and El Latino de la Jornada voting will remain open until the end of the day Thursday. Make sure to vote Raul!

This past Saturday, FC Dallas hosted the 3rd annual 3v3 Heat Tournament at the fields of the FC Dallas Stadium Complex. Participant age groups ranged from U8-U10 on the girls' side and U8-U15 on the boys' side, as well as an adult division. The tournament hosted 57 teams, a 25 percent increase from last year's 42 teams, according to tournament director Jesse McNeil.

The day started with each team playing three games against the other teams, with the best records in each division advancing to the playoffs. Each division crowned a champion. It was a long day, but all of the teams enjoyed the tournament, with many saying they look forward to participating in next year's tournament.

"We had a great time. It was well run, Jessie did a great job organizing it and we had a blast," Alan Beanie, coach of the winning Azzuri team, said, "We definitely would do it again."

Participants of all age groups agreed on the success of the tournament, and in general, enjoyed the tournament.

"I loved this tournament. It's a great way to spend time with your teammates and get to know each other better and it's always fun to do these tournaments," Johan Gomez, a participant in the tournament, said.
