Je-Vaughn Watson wasn't around at FCD practice today to talk about his fantastic assist in Salt Lake as he's joined up with the Jamaican National Team for upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against the United States and Honduras, but FCD head coach Schellas Hyndman certainly had a reaction to Watson's lung-bursting run.
"We’ve seen Je-Vaughn do that before where he just knocks the ball [forward] and starts running like Usain Bolt," said Hyndman. "He’s a tremendous athlete, so my reaction was 'here he goes' and then he got past the player and I thought 'now will he make the right decision' and he made a perfect choice."
"What a change, because I would imagine that when I made the change to bring him on, Salt Lake is winning 1-0 and they probably had a smile on their face with Castillo coming off because he was terrorizing them to a point, but I don’t think they were prepared to get a fresh person on the field that’s a runner and I think that paid off for us."
The run gets more impressive every time you watch it as Watson bursts forward from the right side of the field over to the left in what is likely a 100+ yard run culminating in a ball that eventually made it across to Cooper for FCD's goal. Watson's assist was just another solid moment in what has been a rich run of form for the Jamaican with a goal and two assists in his last four appearances.
It was a fantastic weekend for FC Dallas' loanee players with goals coming from two different countries.
HIGHLIGHTS: Strikers 2, Rowdies 1
In Fort Lauderdale, the Strikers matched up against the Tampa Bay Rowdies in a huge Florida derby matchup. On-loan forward Bradlee Baladez proved to be the hero for the Strikers scoring the game-winner in the 84th minute of a 2-1 victory for the home side.
Baladez replaced Yaikel Perez in the 80th minute of Saturday's match and after a nice dummy from Justin Chavez received a pass with only the keeper to beat. Baladez blasted one into the top corner to double the Strikers' advantage, a goal that would prove crucial after Carl Cort volleyed home a spectacular goal for the Rowdies with only seconds left in stoppage time.
Goalkeeper Richard Sanchez had a nice game for the Strikers making three saves while the only Rowdies goal was an unstoppable effort. With the win, the Strikers pull into a four-way logjam at second place in the NASL with just four games remaining in the fall regular season schedule.
Warshaw scores again for Angelholm
Over at Angelholm, Bobby Warshaw continued his fantastic run of form scoring the first goal of the Swede's 2-0 win over Ljungskile. It's Warshaw's fourth goal for Angelhom in just six matches and his third in the last four games. Just three games remain in the Swedish Superettan season which wraps up on November 2.
Deportivo Saprissa kept hold of their top spot in the Costa Rican first division with two wins last week. Moises Hernandez did not feature in either game having been suspended for the first match. Two games remain in the Costa Rican first division season with playoffs looming for Saprissa.
FC Dallas took a point from Rio Tinto Stadium off 10-man Real Salt Lake via a Kenny Cooper second-half goal. Here's the highlights from the penultimate road game of the season:
FULL HIGHLIGHTS - FC Dallas 1 Real Salt Lake 1
POST - Jackson's header caroms off the post early in the first half
RED CARD - RSL defender Kenny Mansally sent off for upending Jackson
SAVE - Rimando with a huge stop on Jackson's flick
SAVE - Seitz comes up big on Grabavoy chance
GOAL - Saborio latches on to a long ball and volleys it past Seitz
GOAL - Cooper finishes Watson cross
FCD heads to the Wasatch Mountains on Saturday needing a win to keep Western Conference playoff hopes alive, but there's plenty of reason to believe Dallas can leave Rio Tinto with three points given the fact they did the exact same thing last year in similar circumstances.
Schellas Hyndman's men completed a nine-point week with a dramatic come-from-behind 2-1 win over Jason Kreis' side behind a stunning goal from team captain David Ferreira to pull themselves back into the playoff picture. While the goal was one of just two Ferreira scored on his comeback from a long-term injury layoff, it was certainly his biggest of the season.
Looking ahead to Saturday, if results go their way, FCD could start a similar run and come within two points of a playoff spot by taking all three points on what should be a heart-stopping game on Saturday night. Dallas is 4-8-1 all-time at Real Salt Lake and Saturday's match is FCD's only trip to Utah this season. With two home games and a trip to San Jose remaining, a win on Saturday would be just the spark Dallas needs to a late playoff push.

Another week, another goal for FCD loanee Bobby Warshaw!
WATCH: Warshaw scores again for Angelholm
The midfielder from Mechanicsburg now has three goals in five appearances for Swedish Superettan side Angelholms FF after scoring a game-tying goal in the 68th minute of Angelholms 1-1 draw with Orgryte. With four games left in the season, Angelholms sit in ninth place, comfortably above any relegation zones.
Fort Lauderdale slipped up for the third weekend in a row in NASL action falling 2-0 at the Carolina Railhawks. Richard Sanchez was again starting in goal for the Strikers logging one save in the loss while Bradlee Baladez started his first game since August 25.
Down in Costa Rica, Moises Hernandez made his first appearance of the season for Saprissa in a 2-0 defeat of Belen Sigolo, a win that kept Saprissa in first place with 22 points from 10 games. It wasn't a happy return to the lineup for Hernandez, however, who was shown a red card in the second half of the match.
Two FC Dallas players earned spots on the weekly Castrol Index Top 20 list for their performances in Saturday's 4-2 loss to Columbus.
Midfielder Mauro Diaz came in at #4 on the weekly index, the highest such ranking for an FCD player since Blas Perez's week 26 performance against San Jose on August 24.
Forward Blas Perez popped up on the list this week as well with a #15 spot after his first-half goal, his team-leading 11th of the season.

There’s no doubt that Sunday’s 4-2 loss to the Columbus Crew at Toyota Stadium was a major blow to FCD’s playoff hopes. With four games remaining, Dallas sits five points out of a playoff spot meaning at least three and probably four wins from the four remaining games are needed to make the Western Conference playoffs.
“We realize that we have got to get points, we are running out of games,” said Head Coach Schellas Hyndman. “For us to get the playoffs we need three wins, and we have four games to do it.”
Hyndman expressed the need for the enthusiasm and confidence that is seen in the locker room to carry over on to the field adding the need for strong leadership to ensure heads don’t drop with the playoffs still an attainable goal.
“We have to get a result, it’s as simple as that,” Andrew Jacobson said about their remaining schedule. “We have to go for wins and that’s the mentality we need and we need guys who are on the same page and are ready to step up.”
FCD returns to the field next Saturday against Real Salt Lake, a place they won last year in a similar late-season scenario.
Bobby Warshaw AKA "William Robert Warshaw" stole the headlines for the FCD loanees this weekend scoring his second goal with Swedish Superettan side Angelholms FF.
WATCH: Warshaw scores for Angelholm
Warshaw started and scored a dramatic game-tying goal in the 95th minute of Angelholms' 1-1 draw with second-placed Orebro on Friday night. Warshaw followed that up with another 90-minute perfomance in Monday's scoreless draw with Osterunds FK. With five games remaining in the season, Angelholms sits comfortably in ninth place, eight points above the relegation playoff zone.
Back stateside, the Fort Lauderdale Strikers dropped a 2-0 result in a top-of-the-table clash with New York Cosmos in front of over 7,500 people at Lockhart Stadium. Richard Sanchez started and made two saves in the loss while Bradlee Baladez played 30 minutes off the bench in his sixth appearance of the year.
Moises Hernandez did not appear in Saprissa's wild 4-4 draw with Alajuelense.
