For the first time in 2015, we're opening the Toyota Stadium gates for some FC Dallas soccer on Friday night as we host D.C. United in a special preseason friendly and with all the new gear coming in, we thought "Why don't we have a yard sale?"
Come out to Toyota Stadium early on Friday for our FC Dallas Foundation gear sale inside the WinStar River Club. From 11AM-2PM on Friday and then at 6:30PM when gates open for our preseason match, we will be selling anything and everything you can think of.
We're talking everything from puffy jackets to t-shirts to soccer balls to autographed gear to old lightpole banners....as we said, pretty much anything and everything you can think of.
Stop by and see what we've got, all the proceeds go to the FC Dallas Foundation!
CLICK HERE for a special offer on tickets to Friday's preseason match + one of our first two MLS regular season matches.
Next Friday night, February 20th at Toyota Stadium we have a friendly against DC United in the penultimate preseason tuneup for FC Dallas before the season starts on March 7th.
Now for our regular season MLS games, there are regulations in place for just about everything you can think of from sponsors to game presentation to the way the field is mowed....but those don't count for preseason friendlies so we thought we'd have a fun vote to determine which field pattern we will have for the beautiful Toyota Stadium pitch next Friday night.
Below are the four options we can have for Friday night's game. Allen Reed and his groundscrew team need a few days to fully mow in the pattern, so get your vote in before Monday then come out to Toyota Stadium and come back next Friday to see which option won!
Tickets are still available for next Friday's friendly which is complementary for season ticket holders, $10 for general admission & $25 for reserved seating.
Option 1 - Bullseye
Option 2 - Traditional
Option 3 - Checkerboard
Option 4 - Plaid
In celebration of our 20th season in MLS, FCDTV will be posting classic highlights every week of our guys taking on that weekend's opponent.
We don't play Columbus until next weekend in Austin so to kick things off we're posting a special Throwback Thursday looking back at our June 25, 2005 3-1 win over Colorado featuring a game-winning goal from a bandaged up Bobby Rhine. FC Dallas Academy coach Luchi Gonzalez also adds a stunning strike.
One of the really fun aspects of the 2015 schedule is that LA Galaxy comes to town twice this year. We've already talked about how there is guaranteed drama whenever FC Dallas and the LA Galaxy meet so let's not beat around the bush.
This game is going to be known as the "Gerrard" game.
The Liverpool legend is set to join Los Angeles after the EPL season is over and assuming he takes a few weeks off before linking up with the Galaxy, his trip to Toyota Stadium will be one of the first road games for the scouse superstar.
It's going to be absolutely fascinating to see how Gerrard adapts to life in MLS and there's no better way to introduce Stevie G to how we do things in Texas than a steamy summer Saturday night at Toyota Stadium.
You know this one is going to be sold out and it's going to be a huge game in the standings, so no reason to wait and get your tickets.
The players have returned for preseason and the 20th season of FC Dallas soccer is starting to come into focus.
Today, we've released single-game tickets for seven of the biggest games of the season, our 2015 premier matches. Throughout this week we're going to be highlighting each one on FCDallas.com as we celebrate "Marquee Matchups," taking a look towards the 2015 season. Stay tuned each day this week as we highlight one of the seven biggest games coming to Toyota Stadium in 2015.
Marquee Matchups Game One - March 7 vs. San Jose Earthquakes
No matter what sport you're watching, there's nothing like opening day.
Every team is 0-0-0 with championship aspirations and whether you're looking to improve on last season and show that you mean business or simply looking to prove that the previous season was no fluke, the first game of the year is always one you don't want to miss as a fan. There's just something special about that first time you walk through the stadium gates for a new season, getting your first glimpse at the new players while also seeing those familiar faces back on the field for another year.
There's all the new signage around the stadium, the new banners outside(which will be awesome) and that first look at the new pump up videos. On March 7 at 7:30PM, it all gets started again, and let's face it: You're not missing this one.
For FC Dallas, the 2015 season marks the eighth-straight year that FCD will open the season at Toyota Stadium with the team going 3-1-3 in that stretch, having won their last three home openers.
Who can forget last year's season opener in which Oscar Pareja returned to the place he calls home to see Mauro Diaz produce his first of many master-class performances, scoring a brilliant game-winning free kick early in the second half to seal a 3-2 win over Montreal. It would be the first stanza of Mauro's brilliant March that saw him win Etihad Player of the Month while propelling Dallas to a 4-0-1 start to the season.
It's opening night. It gives me chills every time. It's going to be a huge crowd coming off last year's playoff drama. You don't want to miss this one.

Our second Marquee Matchup of 2015 is Saturday March 28 vs. Seattle Sounders FC and do we really need to tell you why this match is going to be awesome?
Now, we know you haven't forgotten how FC Dallas and Seattle squared off five times last year, including an epic showdown in the Western Confernce semifinals where, thanks to the newly instituted away goals tie-breaker, Seattle advanced past FC Dallas to become the first Supporters' Shield winner to advance past the first round since 2011.
And we also know that revenge is sweet.
Kudos to Seattle for their accomplishments, but they spoiled FC Dallas' return to postseason play after a three-year hiatus, so Dallas will be looking for retribution when these two teams square off on March 28.
Also, the Sounders coming to town brings the opportunity to see two Texas products in former FC Dallas forward Kenny Cooper and USMNT super star Clint Dempsey as they battle against our guys in what is always a closely-fought duel.
Cooper logged a total of five seasons with FCD and is ranked seventh among active players with 72 career goals as well as second on the all-time FC Dallas scoring charts. Dempsey is the current captain of the U.S. National Team and is a seven-year veteran of the English Premier League. Last season he made 26 appearances for Sounders FC in his first full season back in MLS after signing mid-2013.
It will also be your only chance to catch Sounders FC at Toyota Stadium. With memories of last season's playoffs resonating on the pitch, there should be no shortage of excitement heading into this matchup.
Twitter is so great. Yesterday, #FiveWordsToRuinADate was trending throughout the day so we had some fun with it and asked our loyal #DTID followers to give us their best #FiveWordsToRuinADate FC Dallas style...here were some of the best responses:
We're nearing the end of 2014 and what a year it was. FC Dallas with Oscar Pareja at the helm set or tied a number of team records, reached the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup semifinals and went undefeated through three games in the MLS Cup Playoffs falling to Supporter's Shield winners Seattle Sounders FC on away goals.
2015 is going to be one of the biggest years in team history, but before we turn the page, let's have some fun and see how much you remember from 2014.
Here's our year-end quiz, take it and see how you stack up against the rest of the #DTID nation. Good luck!
