Rob Harper grew up in Richardson, Texas. He began playing soccer at age 8 in youth leagues and went on to play for select teams, JJ Pearce High School and SMU. He loved the game and continued playing on adult recreational teams and served as a referee and youth team coach for many years. Upon his untimely death at age 52, Rob's former teammates and associates (Friends of Rob) were so moved by Rob’s memory and the impact he made on their lives that they have established this Memorial Fund to realize Rob’s hopes of helping introduce young kids to the sport of soccer who otherwise would not have the opportunity.
The Texas Shootout raised approximately $45,000 for the Rob Harper Memorial Fund and FC Dallas Foundation in 2014.

We're lucky enough to have Jon based right here in Dallas and our FC Dallas Foundation works extremely closely with Lionsraw.
"This year has seen our biggest year by far, in the 10 year history of Lionsraw:
- We have developed a UK legacy centre that is serving 500 children in Middlesbrough.
- Every week we continue to feed and educate 400 children every day in Durban, South Africa.
- In Brazil, we have constructed an education and football centre in a favela where we are serving 500 children every week.
- We have just launched a soccer school in Dallas targeting 200 children at risk of exclusion through bad health and poor diet.
Every week your support is directly helping around 2000 children with various needs in poverty around the world through the work of Lionsraw.
Can I ask you to invite your friends to watch and donate over this next week, so that we can raise $25,000 which will be doubled to $50,000?
Please contact me if you want to help us in any other ways, but our giving will only be matched if it is through the portal above.
