Rivalry
History
The Brimstone Cup is FC Dallas’ oldest rivalry series. The derby was created by supporters of Dallas and the Chicago Fire, and the name was chosen in homage to Dallas' original team name of the Burn and the Fire. What truly makes the Brimstone Cup special is that it was created by the Supporters themselves, and hence retains special significance to the most passionate and loyal of FC Dallas fans.

The partnership between FC Dallas and Tigres UANL formally began in July 2006 with the creation of the Rio Grande Plate by FC Dallas founder Lamar Hunt. FC Dallas won the inaugural Rio Grande Plate in 2006, with Tigres earning the Plate back in 2007 and retaining the trophy in 2008. After two seasons of dormancy, the rivalry was renewed in 2011 by the presidents of both clubs.

History
The Texas Derby is a rivalry between the Lone Star State's two MLS clubs, the Houston Dynamo and FC Dallas, recognizing the best club in the state for the season. The two squads play a series of games with the winner taking home a replica 18th century mountain howitzer cannon named El Capitán. The first contest between the two teams was a 4-3 win in favor of the Dynamo played on May 6, 2006 in Houston. Although Houston has won the series three times to FCD's two, FC Dallas won the 2010 series and have since fired El Capitán after every win at FC Dallas Stadium.
