What FC Dallas coach Schellas Hyndman said Tuesday morning is music to the ears of FCD fans.
Barring any last minute changes or evaluations, players David Ferreira and Ricardo Villar should be in an FC Dallas uniform tomorrow night vs. Toronto FC.
“They’re back. They’ll be part of the 18,” Hyndman said after training Tuesday morning.
Hyndman wouldn’t elaborate on playing time for the two players, but he did offer thoughts on what he would look for from the pair.
For Ferreira, the 2010 MLS MVP who has had a long road back to the pitch, it’s about getting back into the flow of the game.
“Being away from the game as long as he has, it’s that sharpness and getting hit and getting knocked down and getting back up with that confidence,” Hyndman said.
For Villar, who last saw action against New England in the fifth match of the 2012 season, Hyndman is more measured.
“We’re hoping he can handle the demands of the game,” Hyndman said.

Wednesday was a big day for FC Dallas with the unveiling of AdvoCare as the new jersey sponsor. Enjoy pictures from the press conference Wednesday morning.
Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki was the honorary scarfer for Saturday's match vs Chivas USA. The big German was a big hit during the ceremony and post-match, when he took the field for nearly an hour to play goalkeeper and take some penalty kicks.
Hartman save on Chivas USA challenge from Juan Agudelo.
Hernan Pertuz attempts a header in second half.
Brek Shea shot on goal with a follow by Jackson in second half.

There’s no doubt the first half of the 2012 MLS season has been rough for FC Dallas. But despite everything the squad has endured, they are currently just six points out of the last playoff spot in the West (Colorado in 5th place with 19 points).
It’s a point not lost on Schellas Hyndman as the team begins a three-game homestand this Saturday against Chivas USA – a fellow Western Conference squad battling to get the final spot.
“The last playoff spot is still not secure,” Hyndman said. “LA is picking it up, I would expect Portland to pick it up, Chivas and ourselves. Colorado is trying to hold on.”
FC Dallas has 13 points at the moment. Chivas USA has 18 points after its win over Montreal on Wednesday night. An FCD win on Saturday is essentially a six-point swing, with FCD moving up and Chivas USA remaining static.
“What you are starting to see now is if you can get yourself into a good run now, this is where it all makes a difference,” Hyndman said.
Of FC Dallas’ remaining 18 matches this season, just one – July 4 vs Toronto – is against an Eastern Conference team. That means plenty of opportunities to gain – or lose – ground in the standings against West teams.
“If we can get back into our first team either on the field or on the bench, I think we can make a realistic run here in the second part of the season,” Hyndman said.
Brek Shea is all over Deuce Brand media this week. He's taken over the website, social media and video. It's all for his new Deuce Brand watch, which can be pre-ordered online and will be available in the FC Dallas Team shop by July 4. Check out the video featuring Brek:
