FC Dallas defender George John and midfielder Jackson were named to MLSsoccer.com's Team of the Week for Week 3. Along with second-year center back Matt Hedges (Week 1), they're the only FC Dallas players to make MLSsoccer.com's Team of the Week in the young 2013 season. You can read Nicholas Rosano's explanations of why they made the cut below:
MF: Jackson (FC Dallas) – One of the most dangerous men on the field in Dallas' 3-2 win over Houston. His speed and skill caused plenty of issues for Houston, and he had what would have been a Goal of the Week-worthy strike called off by a controversial offside flag.
See the full Team of the Week here.
What do you think? Should any other FC Dallas players have made the cut this week for their performance against the Houston Dynamo?
After beating the Houston Dynamo 3-2 on Sunday in the Texas Derby presented by Novo Nordisk, FC Dallas has climbed four spots in the MLSsoccer.com Power Rankings. FCD landed at number 11 in the rankings for Week 3, up from 15th after Week 2.
You can take a look at the full Power Rankings and see what the MLSsoccer.com Politburo had to say about FCD's Week 3 performance here.
What do you think of FC Dallas' new spot in the Power Rankings? Is it a fair spot or should the team be higher up?

MLSsoccer.com's Daniel Robertson put out an article yesterday about FC Dallas' effective use of set pieces against a Houston Dynamo team known to be lethal in dead ball situations. Below are a few notable quotes from the feature:
Schellas Hyndman on the win: To get two goals off of a team that is strong in the air and a good goalkeeper who has been to two straight MLS Cups, it’s great.
George John on his goal: Whether it goes off of your face, your head, shoulder, if it gets in the goal, it’s a goal, so I’m happy about that and happy with three points.
Andrew Jacobson on his goal: I kind of just followed George in so I wouldn’t get shoved and got a foot on it.

Hunt Sports Group Vice President Dan Hunt sat down for his weekly chat with fans on the FC Dallas Facebook page on Thursday morning. During the chat, Hunt addressed a number of topics in response to fan questions; including the result against Chivas USA, the club's recent television deal, expectations for Kenny Cooper's first season back in an FC Dallas kit and more.
The chats are part of Hunt's recent initiative to be as interactive with FC Dallas fans as possible. The chats take place every Thursday, and you can see all of his answers from this week's chat on the FC Dallas Facebook page here.
A Dallas native, Hunt also wants to interact with FCD fans via his new Twitter account, @DanHuntFCD.
"I want the fans of this club to know how invested I am in the continued growth and success of FC Dallas, and the best way to make sure they know that is for me to talk with them directly," said Hunt. "Social media makes that communication extremely easy for me to let them know that we're all hoping and working for the same thing, and that is for FC Dallas to be a championship team."

Head coach Schellas Hyndman said defensive errors allowed Chivas USA to win 3-1 over FC Dallas on Sunday afternoon at the Home Depot Center.
Hyndman regretted that the match opened up after David Ferreira’s goal early in the second half put FCD up 1-0. The coach would have preferred that FCD tighten the run of play.
“I think we played well enough to win the game, we just did not play smart enough,” Hyndman said after the match to reporters.
Chivas USA’s Juan Agudelo got by Matt Hedges for the tying goal in the 68th minute and a miscommunication between midfielder Je-Vaughn Watson and George John resulted in the winner from Oswaldo Minda in the 76th minute.
The lapses on defense and in the midfield along with missed chances by the forwards means there’s plenty to work on for Hyndman and crew as FCD gets ready to welcome the Houston Dynamo to FC Dallas Stadium on Sunday (12 p.m. CT on ESPN2).
“[There’s] a lot of things going on in the field that we are going to have to get better at, like the spacing,” Hyndman said, adding that FCD did have opportunities in front of the goal early on that the squad failed to convert.
“I think we are a better team than what we showed today,” Hyndman said.
