From the gates opening at 6 until security finally pushed everyone out at 11 p.m., the FC Dallas Girls were passing out pint glasses, tshirts, and posters to the crowd of more than 3,000 people.

At the FC Dallas booth, Brewfest attendees entered our raffle of the night which promised the lucky winners an autographed ball or tickets to the final regular season home game against Chivas USA.

FC Dallas face a must-win match this Saturday, Sept. 15 when Vancouver Whitecaps FC come to Frisco for the final meeting of the season between the two clubs.

The match kicks at 7:30 p.m. at FC Dallas Stadium and will air at approximately 11 p.m. on TXA21. To watch the match live and be a part of the excitement BUY TICKETS NOW: FC Dallas vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC at FC Dallas Stadium

Vancouver currently occupies the final Western Conference berth in the MLS Cup Playoffs. Four points behind the 'Caps in the standings sits FC Dallas, meaning a win on Saturday would leave the Texas side just one point shy of the final playoff berth. On the other hand, if Whitecaps FC should pick up a win at FC Dallas Stadium on Saturday the Canadian teams' lead on FCD would expand to seven points, which would all but eliminate Dallas from playoff contention. With so much on the line, Saturday's game is unquestionably the most important match of FC Dallas' 2012 season to date.

Saturday's match is just as important to Vancouver. Losers of four straight matches dating back to a 2-0 loss at the hands of FC Dallas on Aug. 15, Whitecaps FC desperately needs to win this match in order to distance itself from FCD in the standings. And having scored just once in those last four matches, the Vancouver offense will be looking to right the ship in Frisco on Saturday night.

The match is presented by Guerrero as well as associate sponsors Novo Nordisk and Cash America. The festivities will start as soon as the gates open at 6 p.m., as Hispanic Heritage month will be celebrated at FC Dallas Stadium Saturday night. As always, fans are encouraged to enjoy BBQ, street tacos and live music as part of Lamar's Tailgate on the North Concourse - which will feature a live mariachi band - or visit the Budweiser Beer Garden for foosball, pool ball and great food and drink specials. The pregame festivities will conclude with the ceremonial scarfing of the Lamar Hunt statue, which will be performed by former U.S. Men's National Team captain and National Soccer Hall of Famer Marcelo Balboa (check out Balboa's "Best MLS Goal of all time" at the end of this highlight reel).

Tickets are going fast, so get yours now for the most important match of the year at FC Dallas Stadium.

MLSSoccer.com's popular 24 under 24 feature has returned for another year. The first batch of rankings were released today and FC Dallas' Fabian Castillo came in at No. 22. Click to read the full write up, but here's  a taste of the analysis:

Castillo has gone from an FC Dallas hopeful last year to an established talent in MLS in 2012, as his blistering pace continues to be too much to handle for most opponents. His ability to turn that speed into goals has improved this year (three goals in August), although his finishing still needs work. With the return of influential playmaker David Ferreira, Castillo could be set to take another step forward.

FC Dallas held a full training session on Wednesday evening at Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park. The session was hosted by the Great Lewisville Area Soccer Association (GLASA). Fans were able to watch training and meet the players afterward. An estimated crowd of 250-300 turned out for the event.

FC Dallas beat writer Daniel Robertson asked coach Schellas Hyndman about getting out into the community:

“It’s wonderful, wonderful. Anytime we can do something in the community, as I mentioned to the players, it’s an opportunity to give something back to the community. No professional [sports] organization can survive without the community supporting them. This is just one way for us to show our appreciation to be a part of the greater Lewisville soccer association which is a good soccer association. These are wonderful facilities here and this all came about because somebody had a vision that youth soccer and other sports were important to this community. We’re very very happy to be a part of that and I thought that the facilities again were very good, the field was in great shape and we were able to do a normal training session. That’s very important for us because no team is capable of giving away training days. So we were able to get a good training in and I think for us it was 100 percent a great event.”
