FCD takes the pitch tonight against Orlando City. The OC website has a preview of the game and asks a question I never thought I'd see - can David Ferreira hold up against their squad's back line.

FCD beat Orlando twice last year - once in the same Disney tournament and again in U.S. Open Cup.

Tonight's game gets going at 7 p.m. CT and will be streamed live on MLSSoccer.com's live Channel 2.

The first chance to check out the 2012 FC Dallas kit will be at a pop-up shop that opens this Thursday. The shop will be located at a fun Dallas location (nope, we aren't telling you where and when yet) and will have the new jersey, scarf, t-shirt and hat for sale. This will be a chance to mingle with fellow FCD fans and be the first to see and purchase the new jersey. The pop-up shop will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

FC Dallas goalkeeper coach Drew Keeshan is the subject of a profile in this week's The Irish World, a weekly newspaper for Irish in the United Kingdom.

Definitely read the entire article, but here are some excerpts:

“I had a good job so I took a chance coming here. The coach who came in (Schellas Hyndman) was a local college guy. I didn’t know him and he didn’t know me so he sat me down and said: ‘You’ve got five months to show me what you’ve got’. He gave me the opportunity which I was grateful for. The first two years were tough, we didn’t make the play- offs but we found the formula and we have had two good years now.”

...

Drew was delighted to see Republic of Ireland’s recent achievements in qualifying for Euro 2012: “It’s great for Ireland. I’ll tell you a funny story: We were playing New York in the play- offs and I’m walking in at half time, when I get a tap on the shoulder and there’s Thierry Henry asking me how Ireland are going to get on in their qualifier. I thought that was ironic.”
