As part of FC Dallas' 2013 Get In & Win Campaign last year, the club gave fans the opportunity to register for a once-in-a-lifetime U.S. Men's National Team Tour; the grand prize being a trip for two to each of the USMNT's five home World Cup Qualifiers in 2013. Of the thousands of entries, one lucky fan was chosen at random to win two plane tickets, a hotel stay and a pair of tickets to each of the USMNT's home games during the Hexagonal. That lucky fan was Russell Moore, who enjoyed the first of five trips with his wife, Renee, as the U.S. played Costa Rica at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Colorado last Friday. Russell has agreed to write an exclusive blog for FCDallas.com after each of his trips, and last week's was a memorable one:

The first leg of our USA soccer tour took us to Denver for the USA vs. Costa Rica Game. While the weather became a bit challenging, the game was fantastic! We stayed in a hotel in the downtown Denver area and had a great time visiting with other USA soccer fans. When we arrived to the game, we joined other fans in the lower deck of the stadium and had a great time chanting “USA” with them. Our seats were fantastic and had the best view of the pitch. Seeing our USA players up close, including Brek Shea, was the highlight of our trip.

Thank you to FC Dallas for the opportunity to attend this great match! We look so forward to the other USA matches to come.

Sincerely,

Russell and Renee Moore

Hunt Sports Group Vice President Dan Hunt sat down for his weekly chat with fans on the FC Dallas Facebook page on Thursday morning. During the chat, Hunt addressed a number of topics in response to fan questions; including the result against Chivas USA, the club's recent television deal, expectations for Kenny Cooper's first season back in an FC Dallas kit and more.

The chats are part of Hunt's recent initiative to be as interactive with FC Dallas fans as possible. The chats take place every Thursday, and you can see all of his answers from this week's chat on the FC Dallas Facebook page here.

A Dallas native, Hunt also wants to interact with FCD fans via his new Twitter account, @DanHuntFCD.

"I want the fans of this club to know how invested I am in the continued growth and success of FC Dallas, and the best way to make sure they know that is for me to talk with them directly," said Hunt. "Social media makes that communication extremely easy for me to let them know that we're all hoping and working for the same thing, and that is for FC Dallas to be a championship team."

FC Dallas held its annual Soccer 101 for Women presented by AdvoCare on Wednesday night and the evening was filled with fun and some learning.

Attendees who had pre-registered for one of the coveted spots arrived in time for complementary food and drinks provided by Legends.

The crowd was then split into five groups who rotated through the various stations in FC Dallas Stadium.

Kevin Hartman and Ugo Ihemelu answered questions in the FC Dallas locker room about what it's like to be a professional soccer player.

Daniel Hernandez and play-by-play announcer Mark Followill explained the rules of the game and also took questions.

Ricardo Villar and assistant coach Marco Ferruzzi hosted a soccer skills challenge on the field for attendees.

Kelly Jacobson, wife of Andrew, discussed what it's like to be a spouse of a professional soccer player.

Athletic trainer Skylar Richards explained player fitness and tips for attendees who also play sports.

At the end of the night everyone received a gift bag for attending and a lucky few won door prizes like autographed memorabilia.

Gift and raffle items were provided by AdvoCare, Planet Tan and yellow tail - all proud partners of FC Dallas.

Nearly 800 Korean-Americans who live in North Texas attended Saturday's match between FC Dallas and the Vancouver Whitecaps.

The outing was organized to see Vancouver defender YP Lee, who was one of the stars of the 2002 World Cup South Korean National Team.

But according to a local Korean publication, the atmosphere and thrilling match won over many people in attendance. The whole story is worth a read, but here's an excerpt:

Charles Kim of Carrollton said he found a new love, namely FC Dallas.

"I’m a big soccer fan. And I knew that we had FC Dallas as our home team but this was the first time I actually attended FC Dallas game" said Park.

"I mean, aside from the YP Lee attraction, I’m glad I came to this game because it reminded me that we have a great home team to root for" said Park.

Young Sun Choi of Plano said her two sons had a blast. "My kids play in the Korean Soccer Association’s Youth League. So, they love soccer. Unfortunately they were both born here and they don’t know who YP Lee is. But they became FC Dallas fans after the game. They are already begging for FC Dallas jersey. The stadium is very nice and my husband wants to bring the kids to FC Dallas game regularly from now on" said Choi.

Dallas Observer BrewFest took over the Dallas Arts District on Saturday night with more than 150 brewing companies at the event.

From the gates opening at 6 until security finally pushed everyone out at 11 p.m., the FC Dallas Girls were passing out pint glasses, tshirts, and posters to the crowd of more than 3,000 people.

At the FC Dallas booth, Brewfest attendees entered our raffle of the night which promised the lucky winners an autographed ball or tickets to the final regular season home game against Chivas USA.
