FRISCO, Texas – FC Dallas has terminated the contract of Colombian striker Luis Perea by mutual consent, the club announced today.
Perea joined the team in March and appeared in two games, playing a total of 15 minutes with the first team.
A native of Medellin, Colombia, Perea spent his youth career with Atlético Nacional. In 2010, he appeared in 36 games for León de Huánuco, scoring 22 goals for the Peruvian side. The success led to a loan with Chilean football club Everton de Viña del Mar, where the young forward notched six goals in 13 games. Perea then remained in Peru to play for Universidad San Martin de Porres until the club folded in March.
The unknown voters behind the MLS Power Rankings hammered FC Dallas for its 4-1 loss at DC United by dropping FCD to No. 15 in the Week Four rankings. FCD had been at the six-spot for the last two weeks. Here's what the voters had to say:Looks like Schellas Hyndman has another in-season rebuilding project on his hands. Dallas didn't look up for the fight, and the "Brek Shea is tired!" mantra is played out. Has the guy been tired since October? Plenty of time to recover since then - now he needs to produce.
Thanks to everyone who came out for the first Party at the Pubs watch party for 2012. We easily gave away the MLS pint glasses to the first 100 people and had a standing room crowd inside The Allen Wickers. Our next Party at the Pubs is Saturday, April 28 at Trinity Hall in Dallas when FCD travels west to face LA Galaxy.

FC Dallas faces DC United on Friday in another nationally televised game for FCD. First kick is at 6:30 p.m. CT. Join us for our first Party at the Pubs event to watch the match.
The mystery voters behind the MLS Power Rankings kept FC Dallas at No. 6 in the Week Three rankings. FCD remained steady at the six-spot for the following reason:A short-handed effort like the one they put on against Sporting says a lot about this team's character. But it was telling that they just couldn't keep up in the dying minutes. Two years ago, it was FCD blowing past the competition at that point in the game.
Soccer players got an extra treat Sunday with an FC Dallas watch party at Premier Park in Balch Springs. Members of the North Texas Premier Soccer Association got to watch the FCD/Sporting KC match on a jumbo tron at the fields. They also, not surprisingly, ate a hundred pizzas from Papa Johns and drained four kegs provided by Budweiser. Also raffled off were tickets to June's Mexico/Brazil match at Cowboys Stadium. The great people and beautiful weather made it a fun event for everyone.

We'll see you there.
