As FC Dallas finishes up final preparations for tomorrow's huge Western Conference showdown with Vancouver Whitecaps FC (TICKETS), both Raul Fernandez and Blas Perez are about to take part in crucial FIFA World Cup Qualifiers that will play a massive part in deciding whether Peru and Panama make historic World Cup appearances. Let's take a look at the situations for both countries heading into tonight's matches:
Raul Fernandez & Peru
It's make or break time for Raul Fernandez and Peru tonight as the South American country looks to qualify for their first World Cup since 1982. La Blanquirroja sits seventh out of nine teams in CONMEBOL qualifying, but just two points behind Uruguay and Venezuela for the fifth-place playoff spot.
Tonight in Lima, Peru will host Uruguay in a match that could propel them into that final playoff spot with a win. Just four games remain in Peru's World Cup Qualifying schedule and if they win all four, they will finish in at least the fifth-place playoff spot. You can catch tonight's Peru vs Uruguay match live on BeIn Sport Espanol at 9:30PM. Seeing as how it's during the USA vs Costa Rica match, you may want to set your DVR.
Blas Perez & Panama
Tonight is equally huge for Blas Perez and Panama as La Marea Roja host lowly Jamaica. Panama currently sits in fifth place just one point behind Honduras for the fourth-place playoff spot and two points behind Mexico for the third-place automatic qualifying spot. With four games left and remaining matches at Honduras, at Mexico and against the United States, grabbing three points against the Reggae Boys tonight is an absolute must if Blas and Panama want to keep their dreams alive to qualify for a first World Cup. This match starts at 10PM and will not be available on TV.

While FCD was off last weekend, it was another successful stretch for our loan players who saw times with their respective teams.
HIGHLIGHTS: Strikers 1, Railhawks 0
In Fort Lauderdale, goalkeeper Richard Sanchez had his second shutout in a row as the Strikers rolled to their third straight win dealing the first-place Carolina Railhawks their first loss of the season in a 1-0 result. Sanchez now has a 225 minute scoreless streak dating back to their 2-1 win over San Antonio on August 17. Forward Bradlee Baladez did not feature in Saturday's win over Carolina as he nurses a calf strain, but he is not expected to miss any more time.
The Strikers host San Antonio on Saturday with first place in their sights.
WATCH: Warshaw scores in Sweden
Over in Sweden, midfielder Bobby Warshaw has broken into the Angelholms starting XI and opened his account for the Swedish side in a 2-2 draw vs GIF Sundsvall on August 28. The Pennsylvania-native did well to take down a deep cross and snuck a shot between the legs of the opposing keeper to score his first goal in Sweden. Warshaw built on that performance playing 65 minutes in a 4-2 win over Varberg.
With eight games left in their season, Angelholms sit comfortably in seventh place, thirteen points behind GIF Sundsvall for the third playoff promotion spot in the Swedish Superettan but seven points above the relegation playoff zone.
In Costa Rica, Moises Hernandez was an unused substitute for Deportivo Saprissa in their 4-1 thrashing of lowly Uruguay. After five games, Saprissa sits in first place with 13 points, five points ahead of second-placed Puntarenas.
Tonight was another wild game at FC Dallas Stadium as FC Dallas and the San Jose Earthquakes combined for four goals, three red cards and a great comeback from the home team. Here's all the action:
FULL HIGHLIGHTS: FC Dallas vs San Jose Earthquakes
GOAL: Alan Gordon puts the away side on top early in the match
GOAL: Steven Beitashour doubles the 'Quakes advantage in the 16th minute with a well-placed volley
GOAL: Blas Perez pulls FCD back within a goal just minutes later
GOAL: Michel slots home a PK for his second goal of the season to pull Dallas level
RED CARD: 'Quakes Justin Morrow shown the door for a hard tackle on Ramon Nunez
RED CARD: Victor Bernardez and Kenny Cooper tangle earning both red cards
It's been a good month for 18-year-old Homegrown defender Kellyn Acosta.
The Plano-native made his first MLS start against Los Angeles and has started the last three games in a row at right back for FCD despite turning 18 just last month. He took some time on Friday morning after training to chat with the fans on FCD's Facebook page ahead of tomorrow's big game against San Jose.
Click here to read the full transcript from Kellyn's chat. The questions range from where he would've gone to college to his keys for success to whether he is the son of Zeus. It's a good read.
With school back in session, the traditional summer camps have departed the numerous fields outside FC Dallas Stadium and the morning sounds of FC Dallas Academy training have once again taken over.
Head coaches Luchi Gonzalez(U-18), Josema Bazan(U-16) and Francisco Molina(U-14) have opened their pre-season camps this week in preparation for the 2013-2014 campaigns, but six of the players are enjoying a head start.
Wilfred Williams, Alex Radilla, Jordan Cano and Coy Craft from the under-18 squad and Martin Salas and Christian Ramirez from the under-16 squad recently returned from a five-day Under-18 Men's National Team combine at the Nike headquarters in Oregon.
"They’re very valuable," said Luchi Gonzalez. "I spoke to all the boys and it was a good experience for them. The level of competition was with some of the better players in the country. They also did some fitness, so it was a win win for us."
The six players selected from FC Dallas were the most of any team in the country and coach Gonzalez said there could have even been more worthy of selection. For the FCD players at the combine, the comfort of having familiar players around them certainly helped.
"It’s awesome because you had players from your team and they had players from their same club but not from their same team," said Craft. "So it was great for us."
For Martin Salas, a player who spent his first year with the U-16s last year and will be one of the leaders of the squad this year, he had to watch from the sidelines with a minor injury, but the experience was still beneficial.
"I was hurt, but watching from the side it was pretty intense," said Salas. "It was just seeing the guys play and it keeps me going because I don’t want to sit out any camps."
With both an under-18 and under-16 squad loaded with players competing for national team spots, don't be surprised to hear of more callups for FCD players in the near future as we head into the US Soccer Development Academy season starting in mid-September.
